In the short story, The Necklace by Guy De Maupassant, the main character made a decision that greatly changed her life. The protagonist, Madam Loisel chose the easy way out by telling a lie which transforms her into a new person. She is both improved for the better and worse with one simple choice. Madam Loisel learned to tell the truth even never choose the easy way out.Madam Loisel was much different before the lost the necklace. She was a beautiful and charming woman. This positive trait shows that she was stunning and turned heads wherever she went. At the party, she made all the men turn to look at her [and] begged to be introduced. Madam Loisel's beauty attracted attention from all the men making her feel extremely lucky. She was a stunning and gorgeous woman. However, her personality was everything but charming. Even though her looks were attractive, Madam Loisel's attitude was the exact opposite. She was a whiny and unappreciative person. When Madam Loisel and her husband received the invitation, she scornfully tossed the invitation on the table [and] wiped tears from her wet cheeks. Instead of appreciating what she has, she whined and complained that her clothes weren't good enough. Her personality was spoiled, but after she lost the necklace, Madam Loisel blossomed into a new person.After Mme. Loisel lost her necklace, she went through ten years of hardship that taught her life lessons. She transformed into a consistent worker and never complained about what she didn't have. She suffered through the horrible life the needy live. She played her part, however with suddenheroism. Mme. Loisel personality changed into a humble hard-worker. Not only did her personality change, her appearance were also transformed.Mme. Loisel's beauty disappeared from her looks. She became poor , dirty and old after ten years of hard work. She soon appeared an old woman now. She became heavy, rough, harsh like on of the poor. This shows that Madam Loisel was no longer the beautiful woman she once was. The housework and suffering diminished her beauty and aged her into an old lady. These transformations greatly affected Mme. Loisel's life.Summing it all up, Madam Loisel became a whole new person after she lost the necklace. It was a bitter-sweet transformation, both improving and diminishing her. She learned to appreciate what she has and changed into a hard-working person. Having that caused her to pay the price of suffering a poor life which aged her appearance into an old lady removing all of her beauty. In the end, Mme. Loisel got the opposite of what she desired from one simple decision. The protagonist soon learned to never take the easy way out and lie because you would have to pay a bigger price.
