Observation and Exposition Assignment: observe another class. Attend one hour of the class without disturbing it. Sit in the back, or wherever the teacher would like you to sit, and take notes. After the observation you will need to write a paper in which you take a position about the class and write an expository essay* to fit that position. You must give me a copy of the paper and also give one to the teacher whose class you observed. Keep in mind—this is an exercise in audience and purpose. Consider for whom you’re writing and why. Length: Approximately 2 pages (double-spaced, 12 font, Times New Roman, 1 inch margins) Secret for Success: tight writing, exact details, engagement with topic.
