The Peruvian Cusoms Auhoriy exercises he conrol over all persons,baggage, merchandise and means of ranspor ha ener he naionalerriory in accordance wih he Cusoms General Law of Peru.

Travelers and residens from border areas, who occasionally crosshe border, are exemped. They are governed by he special cusomsdesinaion of border ransi, as envisaged by he Cusoms GeneralLaw.However, if he raveler carries he abovemenioned goods, he/shewill pay a one-ime 14% fee over he oal value of hose declared

goods, whose value as a whole does no exceed one housand USdollars (US $1,000) per rip and hree housand US dollars (US$3,000) in one year as long as hese are considered as baggage. Incase of any doub, please consul a cusoms officer.

Some definiions of baggage are menioned below:

Baggage: I refers o all goods eiher new or used ha a raveler may

reasonably need as long as hey are for common use or consumpionaccording o he purpose and lengh of he rip, and which, byheir quaniy, naure or variey, are no presumed o be used forcommercial or indusrial purposes.

The entry of a vehicle into the country requires the

presence of is owner. Upon entry, an identier will be placed on the vehicle and
