Pinder Brothers are now a leading UK suppliers of stainless steel and
silverplated giftware. With our long history of international trade, we
can source and develop bespoke products for our customers. Many of
our products are designed in the UK and we also develop new gift
ranges in joint ventures with our American and European partners.
In 1877 two brothers John and
Edward set up Pinder Brothers as
silversmiths and electroplaters. In the
early days church vessels and
ornaments were a speciality and later
silverplated cutlery and holloware.
The firm prospered
having their first mark
registered at the essay
office in 1888.
Turning into a private
limited company in 1920.
In 1939 Pinder Brothers moved
to a new factory in on Arundel
Street which virtually coincided
with World War Two. Staff were
called up and the factory
continued on the basis of
government contracts including
cutlery for the forces and copper
bands for shells.
In 1948 the company starts
importing specialist goods – cut
glass from Czechoslovakia, tarnish
resistant silverplate from West
Germany, watches from Switzerland
and stainless steel from Denmark.
In 1972 the company started
sourcing goods from the Far East
including Taiwan and Hong Kong
and later from China.
In 1997 Pinder Brothers
enters the digital age with
the launch of its website –
www.pinder.co.uk.
In 2007 with raising commodity prices, the
company launches the Shine catalogue offering
its most popular products in more competitively
priced materials.

it’s 140th Anniversary
