The month of Tazaungmone comesat the very start of the cold season aftermonsoon. At the time, all trees and forestsare lush and green.
Tazaungmone has the pleasantweather with cloudless starry skies. Thefullmoon day of Tazaungmone is spectacularwith silvery moon beans.
On such a night as this, the fullmoonday of Tazaungmone, Rajagaha KingAjatasattu went in royal state to Jevaka’smango grove where the all-EnlightenedBuddha was residing. He requested theBuddha to deliver a sermon. The Buddhadiscoursed on the Samaphata Sutta, theblessings of being ordained.
Shortly after hearing the discourseon the benefits of being ordained, KingAjatasattu had come to strongly believe inand uphold the three objects of veneration, the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha. Basedon the deliverance of the discourse on theSamaphata Sutta, the fullmoon day ofTazaungmone is called Samaphata SuttaDay.
Moreover, from the time of theBuddha to the present day, Kathina robes-offering ceremonies have been held duringthe month of Tazaungmone by theBuddhists. The monks who have receivedKathina robes can have the five Kathinaresults. The donors will have the benefits ofdonation as well.
The occasion on fullmoon day ofTazaungmone is the most significant in theDhamma world. On such an occasion, theBuddhist people can enjoy blessings both atpresent and in the cycle of rebirths by hearingthe discourse on the Samaphata Sutta, offering Kathina robes and doing meritoriousdeeds.

Amazon to allow giftingof Kindle e-books
SEATTLE, 20 Nov—Amazon.com Inc has begun allowingcustomers to give its Kindle e-books to others.
Before, customers could only give gift certificates to cover thecost of an e-book.
To receive a Kindle e-book gift, the recipient only needs an e-mail address, not necessarily a Kindle e-reader. Although the e-readerstarts at $139 for a version that can wirelessly download contentover Wi-Fi, Amazon also offers a number of free applications thatcan be used to read Kindle books on gadgets such as laptops, tabletcomputers and smart phones.
Amazon also reiterated that millions are reading Kindle bookson the dedicated e-reader and on free apps. This still doesn’t give anindication of how many people have bought the Kindle — somethingwhich the Seattle-based company has never given precise detailsabout.
There are currently more than 725,000 books in Amazon’sKindle Store.

Diabetes insipidus results when the brain doesn’tproduce enough antidiuretic hormone, which controlsthe amount of water in the blood and urine.
The American Academy of Family Physiciansoffers this additional information about diabetesinsipidus:
* It’s not related to type 1 or type 2 diabetes.* Common symptoms of diabetes insipidus are
being very thirsty and above-average urination.* Possible triggers for diabetes insipidus include
kidney disorders, medication side effects, ordamage to the brain or pituitary gland. Aboutone-third of the time, doctors can’t find a cause.
* Some mild cases do not require treatment. Inmore serious cases, drugs to help the bodyproduce — or make better use of — antidiuretichormones may be prescribed.—Internet

is now in the Milky Way,researchers reported inThursday’s onlineedition of the journalScience that it originatedin a separate galaxy thatwas later cannibalized byours.
That makes the newplanet, which is about 20percent larger thanJupiter, the first found tohave originated inanother galaxy.
“For the first time,astronomers have
detected a planetarysystem in a stellar streamof extragalactic origin.Because of the greatdistances involved, thereare no confirmeddetections of planets inother galaxies. But thiscosmic merger hasbrought an extragalacticplanet within our reach.”
The new planet isorbiting a star from whatis known as the Helmistream — a group of starsthat originally belongedto a dwarf galaxy thatwas devoured by theMilky Way about six tonine billion years ago.
The researchers saythe new planet is also oneof the few planets knownto have survived theperiod when its host starexpanded massivelyafter exhausting thehydrogen fuel supply inits core. The star has nowcontracted again, theyreport.

Study suggests mammogramsunder 50 if family risk
LONDON, 20 Nov –Women in their 40s with amoderately high family riskof breast cancer should getyearly mammograms, a newBritish study suggests.Though such testing is stand-ard in the US for that agegroup with a family history, women in Europe who havean intermediate family riskare not always offeredscreening if they are under50.
British researchers fol-lowed 6,710 women under50 who had a moderatebreast cancer risk — mean-ing women who meet criteria
such as having one closefemale relative who hadbreast cancer in her 40s oryounger. Such woman havedouble to triple the risk ofhaving breast cancer as theaverage woman. The womenwere monitored for aboutfive years and given a yearlymammogram for about fouryears. A total of 136 womenfrom the group were diag-nosed with breast cancerduring the course of thestudy.
Doctors thought it wouldbe unethical to have a com-parison group that was notoffered screening. So theyused two previous studies: ofwomen who were notscreened and of breast can-cer patients with a familyhistory.

OECD predicts global outputto grow 4.6% over 2010
PARIS, 20 Nov — Global output is expected to grow4.6 percent in 2010 in the context of continuing but tepidrecovery, according to an economic outlook reportissued by the Paris-based Organization for EconomicCooperation and Development (OECD) on Thursday.
The outlook report foresees around 4.2-percentgrowth in global gross domestic product (GDP) in 2011and then another 4.6-percent increase in 2012, whichcontinue to be led by non-OECD economies. Soft outputand trade growth since early 2010 along with widespreadfiscal consolidation formed the backdrop of slack activityin OECD economies over near-term, while emergingeconomies slightly slowed their growing pace, theorganization said.
As to unemployment troubling many OECDeconomies, the report indicated it would declinemoderately from 8.3 percent in end of 2010 to around7.3 percent by the end of 2012. Though jobless rateremains high above the pre-crisis rate of over 5.5 percentin OECD, the report showed positive signals moresustainable growth in emerging countries, stabilizedinflation at low rate in advanced members and strongdomestic demand outside OECD.
