Objective-1To create awareness among DIET faculty, ETE trainees, school teachers and community towards inclusion of all children in-the class room with special reference to HI(Hearing Impairment).

Objective-2To sensitize and orient DIET faculty, E.T.E trainees, school teachers, community leaders and parents to be aware of H.I and its identification.

Establish a pool of resources for the use of school teachers , E.T.E. trainees to ensure inclusion.

Objective-5To develop print and audio-visual material for advocacy and training. Also plan to develop a Training Module for teachers Training programme working under SSA.

Objective-6To develop and launch the website and upload relevant material for the use of various stakeholders like education department of MCD, N.D.M.C, Cantonment Board, NGOs & concerned authorities of education in GNCT Delhi.

Objective-7To share our experiences and expertise with other teacher training programmes like B.EI. Ed, B.Ed, B.Ed (Nur), Pvt. ETE and ECCE programmes.

Methodology In order to give the shape of the resource Centre, Advisory Committee was constituted comprising of the Experts working in the field of Hearing Impairment(HI)

Visit by DIET Faculty to different institutes working in field of Hearing Impaired in Delhi including NGOs, Schools Working in the areas of Hearing Impaired Such as:1. Ali Yavar-Jung Institute of Hearing Impairement.2. Balwant Rai Mehta School G.K. Part-II3. Ministry of Labour for Rehabilitation & Referel Services Centre.4. Awaaz School for Hearing Impaired Children Kirti Nagar

Second Meeting of Advisory Committee was held on 12.01.2011, members and chairperson of the different sub-groups i.e. Infrastructure Training Material Development Referral & RehabilitationAdvocacy & Campaigning presented their strategies to carry out the work in systematic manner.

First Phase 2010-2011 It was decided in the meeting that in first phase following activities have to be completed. Faculty should visit to the states where similar centers have been set-up such as Kerala, & Bombay.Setting up of Resource Room in DIET Premises.Training of DIET faculty.

Second Phase-2011-2012

Identification and Training of Key Resource Persons for In-service programmes.Development of Training Modules and related brochures and literatures. Printing of Training Modules related brochures and literatures.Training of ETE trainees.Training of In-service Teachers.Awareness Campaigning in Community.Development of website of the Resource Centre for developing network with various agencies working in the field of HI.

Third Phase-2012-2013

Pre-service and In-service Training Programme. Advocacy and Campaigning and working with

the community.Sharing experience and expertise with other
