• Since 18 May 2007 Estonian Railways has dispatched 15 fully loaded (90 TEUs in average in a train) container trains to Moscow.
• Loading in Tallinn takes maximum 36 hours, unloading in Moscow ~2 hours.
• Wagons are loaded on trains in both Muuga and Paldiski stations, trains are assembled either in Muuga or Ülemiste station.
• Trains are made up of flat cars, majority of which belong to Estonian Railways.
• Ca 40% of containers returning on a train are empty.• The train cycle from loading to loading is 10 days.• An additional train will be added to this line in December (i.e. in
total 2 trains a week).• 3 trains a week in 2008.• The trains can accommodate also private wagons.

• First direct train from Estonia to Kazakhstan was dispatched in October 2007.
• The scheduled time of travelling on Tallinn-Pechory-Iletsk-Almaty line or Tallinn-Pechory/Narva-Tobol-Almaty line is 7 days.
• The train will be initially operating once a week.• In 2008 the train will start making two trips a week.• Future prospect: loading train in Kazakhstan with
containers originating from China.• Baltic Transit container train will continue operating in
parallel.

• Train ferry project involving Estonia and Finland to be launched in cooperation with the Port of Tallinn, Finnish Railways and shipping companies.
• Freight from the Scandinavian countries carried by rail to Ukraine and further on to the countries of the Black Sea region and Central Europe.
• Possible to link it with the Rail Baltica project supported by the EU.

• Prioritise the development of different container train projects, including so-called single-train projects.
• Involve companies from abroad.
• Use the existing wagon pool as efficiently as possible and involve also private wagons.
• Maintain a stable and clear tariff policy and treat all our cooperation partners equally in setting the priorities.
