ALEVIS (Partisans of the Caliph Ali)

The people that love HAZRETİ ALİ ,who is both cousin and son-in-law of the prophetMuhammed and one of the most important people in ISLAM culture, are called Alevi. Alevi population is quite high in Turkey, approximately six millions.

The population of ALEVI citizens in Turkey is shown with blue colors. In the dark blue areas , there are much more ALEVI population in Turkey.

Hacı Bektaş Veli and Pir Sultan Abdal , who are importantpeople in ALEVI culture, haveimportant roles in socialdeveloping and institutionalizingof Alevi culture. Both of thesepeople highlight affection forhuman beings. All the time, theyachieve keeping people togetherby giving good messages .Theyachieve this by adopting thismessages ‘ let’s be together andlet’s be huge and let’s be alive.’ They spread moral, justice andfreedom values. They give advicewith this principle “Even if youare hurt, never hurt” Also, theyadvise people to behave withtolerance and love otherreligions and nations.

The Alevi folks believe that the most wonderful creature created by GOD is human. In thatway they concentrate on being indulgent. They accept this rule ‘’do not say bad things, do not steal from others and have your honor ‘’ as a principle.

BASICS OF BELIEF

The basic of Alevi beliefs consists of the people who have good moral andwho are decent.

The place where Alevi folks meet in order to worship is called CEMEVİ .The ceremonywhich they do is called CEM CEREMONY. There are some important people in theseceremonies such as Dede,Şerbetçi,Bekçi,Semahçı, Sofracı, Çıracı, Rehber.
