Arthur Ambartsumian
This article deals with the etymological problems of the two Persian lexemes : durncrane andgr grave. Theauthor considers the background of these words through the history of the Persian language, using wide range of linguisticmaterials from Old Iranian, Middle Persian, New and Modern Persian, their interaction with neighboring languages likeTurkic, Armenian, Ossetic, Syriac and others. As a result of the research, some new approaches were found out to explainthe origin of these two words.
