The Venue
• Four sub camps – Red, White, Blue and Green (no separate Rover sub camp)
• Flag poles on southern boundary on slight hill
• Existing toilets supplemented with portaloos
• Shower blocks near dining hall
• Coffee bar / adults evening bar in dining hall
• Retail - camp merchandise and gifts, soft
drinks, sweets, ice creams

2 Catering Options
1. Fully inclusive as at Eurocamp 2010
• Catering supplied by professional outdoor
(festival) catering specialists, with mobile
kitchens
• Food served in 3000 m2 hall with seating for 800
– served in 4 sittings
2. Self catering
• Responsible for all own equipment, cookers,
shopping, and washing up (on gas or petrol)
• No open wood fires in camp sites / sub camps

• B-PSA leaders will supervise all activities
• On Sunday afternoon B-PSA will train volunteer
activity leaders from all other Associations to
assist and help language challenges
• Activity age groups: • Wolf Cubs 8 - 11 years
• Scouts 11 – 15 years
• Senior Scouts 15 – 18 years

Hike / Trip Programme
• Trips not included in price, to keep basic
cost of camp as low as possible

Trip Options
Brownsea Island Trip
• Coach and ferry trip to Poole Harbour one of the
largest natural harbours in the world
• And Brownsea Island the home of Scouting
Coach approx £10 and ferry approx £6
Central London Trip
• Visit your choice of London’s famous landmarks,
museums and attractions (many free).
• You might also be able to take part in a London
treasure hunt or the famous Monopoly Challenge.

Oxford Trip
• Famous university town of Oxford with the
opportunity to visit the Colleges and Museums
• Or spend some time punting down the river.

Windsor Castle Trip
• Home to the Queen for much of the year and one of
the oldest castles in the world
• Followed by a boat trip along the River Thames.

Stonehenge
• Winchester - famous for its Cathedral and
being England’s first Capital City and home of King

Castle Hike
• 16km circular hike from Eurocamp18 to
Donnington Castle.
• A ruined medieval castle, built by Sir Richard
Abberbury in 1386
• Parliament voted to demolish Donnington
Castle in 1646. Only the gatehouse survives.
• Hike also goes through the stunning
Snelsmore Common Country Park
White Horse Hike Transport to start and finish
• 25 km linear walk along the Ridgeway, an ancient
trackway described as Britain’s oldest road.
• At the end of your hike you will see the Uffington
White Horse and on route visit: • Scutchamer Knob – An early Iron Age round barrow
• Grim’s Ditch – A ditch created in around 300 BC to mark out
territories
• Segsbury Castle – An Iron Age hill fort
• The Blowing Stone – Used by King Alfred to rally his Saxon troops
• Uffington Caste – An early Iron Age hill fort
• Dragon Hill – Where legend has it St. George slayed the Dragon
• Wayland’s Smithy – A Neolithic Long Barrow and Chamber
The Great Stones Hike Possible Rover Scout 12 hour challenge
• A 40 km walk along the Great Stones Way from
Barbury Castle to Stonehenge
• Includes Neolithic henges and stone circles, Bronze
Age barrows, Iron Age hill forts, ancient churches,
pretty villages, English pubs and more

Security and welfare
• Every person on camp will have a numbered wrist
band (different colour for 18+)
• No wrist band – no food!
• Wrist band number will link to personal records –
including medical
• Medical centre with Doctor, Nurse and 1st Aiders
• Off site trips / hikes – record of who is on which bus
/ trip / hike from wristband numbers
• All gates can be locked at night - night security by
volunteer leaders from camp
• Only 18+ allowed in bar / drink alcohol

• Jan 2017 – update at GA
• Feb - July 2017 – bookings required via website (near
firm numbers)
• Oct 2017 – 50% deposit
• Jan 2018 – Groups / Associations allocated to sub camps
• Jan 2018 – update and sub camp leader briefing at GA
• Feb – May 2018 – 50% balance with firm numbers, book
trips and hikes, buy merchandise on line.
The Price
Based on current cost estimates, and on expected
attendance of 2,000 paying visitors we estimate the
price of camp will be:
• Option 1 – Fully inclusive £155 per person
• Option 2 – Self Catering £110 per person
