Criterion 1: Historic Thermal Town

∗ The source of an active thermal, natural mineral water

∗ Facilities utilising the thermal water for medical, hydrotherapyand wellness

∗ Confirm quality standard and regulations for the source(s) of thermal water

∗ Description of the personnel responsible for the management of the thermal water

∗ Describe the regime and management system for the control of the thermal water

∗ Responsibility for the control and standards of medical treatments within the thermal facilities

Criterion 2: A natural resource;

Thermal Water

∗ Evidence of promotional activity related to the thermal treatments

∗ Examples of branding; logos, trademarks, corporate identity and partnerships

∗ Management of visitor and cultural activities

∗ Educational courses and training related to thermal activity

∗ Commercial products developed from the natural thermal resources

∗ Any corporate sponsorship or partners supporting the municipal authorities

∗ Illustrate notable C19th and older architectural heritage

∗ A complex of historic buildings related to thermal water activity and treatments

∗ Method of managing the protection of the architectural heritage and an inventory of the protected buildings, structures, landscape, parks and gardens

∗ The management structure and resources to maintain this protection

∗ A synopsis with references of the architectural history of the town and its buildings

∗ Traditions of entertainment and cultural activity developed within the thermal town

∗ Organisation(s) responsible for cultural activity today
