• Officially established in 2007• Agder University College founded in 1994

(merger of six regional colleges with history dating back to 1839)

• In 1771, Johann Ernst Gunnerus, bishop of Trondheim, suggested establishing a university in Kristiansand (Norway’s first university founded in Oslo, 1811)

• Fourth largest university (app. 11 000 students), and sixth largest higher education institution in Norway

European Integration Summer School

• Oldest annual summer school on "European integration" subjects in Norway that offer training at MA-level since the early 1990s

• Unique atmosphere and learning environment (2007 UiA best learning environment award) during a “long summer” (European Voice, October 14, 2014)

• Key component of half-year EU specialization program at the faculty• Interdisciplinary focus (political science, public administration,

economics and law)• Attracts outstanding international researchers and experts as guest
