Gren Norton BSc. Engineering, McGill University MBA Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Grenville Thomas Norton on June 1st, 2006 at Crosswinds Golf Club at the young age of 56.Gren is the son of the late Tom and Dorothy Norton of Montreal and brother of Elizabeth Donald also of Montreal. He is greatly missed by his beautiful wife of 30 years, Marcie, and his two children Andrew and Jessica. Gren was an incredibly wonderful Husband, the best father and an avid recycler. Gren began his business career after graduating from McGill (BSc. Engineering) and the University of Western Ontario (Ivey MBA). He was a consummate marketing strategist launching new brands, developing advertising campaigns, and directing consumer research with industry leaders, such as Imperial Oil, Unilever, Lenscrafters, and Aramark. His MBA classmates will miss his organizational skills for class reunions having recently celebrated their 30th reunion with him in London. Most recently, Gren was a member of the board of directors for Erinoak Treatment Centre. In the last four years Gren's focus shifted away from a corporate life to his true life passion and stride, which included a new love of teaching. This became evident as his natural enthusiasm, and passion were observed while spending hours upon hours at the kitchen table marking papers and preparing articles for his various marketing, advertising and e-commerce classes at Sheridan and Humber Colleges. An avid golfer, Gren often divided his time between his favourite greens, spending time with his family, and spending time in his favourite spot: our new deck. Many of Gren's daily activities were conducted on the deck (weather permitting). You could often find him winding down his day in his beloved hot tub.In fact, Gren would hot tub so much we made the word "tubbing" a verb.If he wasn't in the house, we knew he was outside "tubbing". Gren passed away while he was golfing and, as deeply traumatic as his passing was to all of us, we take small comfort knowing that he was doing something that he loved. Gren will be remembered as a man with a charming sense of humour who was able to make light of any situation.Gren was also an enthusiastic sports fan, loyal to his native Montreal sports teams.A relentless baseball fan, Gren made trips to baseball parks all across North America each summer with his son Andrew, visiting friends and relatives along the way. A private family memorial will be held this week. In the coming months, a larger Celebration of Life memorial will be held for Gren.In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. GAI NLEY, Ga r y- Suddenly, at the Jo- seph Brant Memorial Hospital on Satur- day, June 3, 2006 at the age of 62. Sur- vived by his beloved partner Pam and his 2 step-children Janice and Chris. Fondly remembered by his long time friend Bob Marchand. Gary had a love for animals and will surely be missed by his pets Hol- ly, Tri xie and Chelsey. Gary was an Air Traffic Controller and leaves behind many friends and col- leagues who had the opportunity to know him over his 36 year career. Cremation has taken place.
