Evaluation The photography is the part where I can get creatively infused with the project. I felt as if my photography was exceptional compared to the year before, but the main element in which I’m proud is that I was able to increase my abilities during the unit. I was able to work in the studio, adapting photos with different lighting elements and increasing my knowledge about macro lenses to gain a better quality of detail. As project manager, I felt as if my roles and responsibilities were important contributing factors to gain a successful event. I was able to maintain the budget without breaching the limits. I kept minutes from each meeting, which is recorded on my blog, as well as liaising with the venue. I was able to keep my team on time with every step of the way, which I tracked through my gantt chart and deadlines were met. In the beginning, I wanted to create an event that would be crowd pleasing to a wide audience. Now I realise I was overly ambitious. The event was a success, I felt as if the design could have been more creative than just a plain black background to show off our skills of creativity, but I liked the way it was set up. We had six big boards where we mounted our work, mixing Alice and Owen’s work on the first two and last two boards then having my work central as it contained a storyline to the order of presentation. After we finally set up, I received an email from the venue asking for our work to be moved into the bar area, not the walkway, but we could just add more work. Therefore, I chose to proceed with my own solo exhibition. My solo exhibition consisted of previous monochrome style photography about the history of techno. Due to this change in plan, I had to use the remaining money from the budget to create my artwork, therefore we wasn’t able to set up an evening with drinks for our peers and fans. I believe this affected our audience because we weren’t able to bribe them to come. I felt as if the solo exhibition had a more intriguing space to be placed where people could actually view it in an environment that suited its genre. I felt as if the solo exhibition had a more intriguing space to be placed where people could actually view it in an environment that suited its genre. Personally, I felt as if all the work leading up to main event was highly well organised with communication at its best, until the movement of the exhibition, in which I had to use the rest of the budget. If I was to redo the event by myself at this venue, I would generate creative atmospheric scenery around my photography using black string then have a darker theme that corresponds to the work I want to create in the future. The style of the project would be completely different. The promotional work would be a lot better; Id contact newspapers to gain an interest in my event to show off the work that reflects me best. I did a lot of promotional work through social networking sites, such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram by posting the advert I created and giving out information on times and dates. This would be enhanced. I also wanted to gain some audience feedback from an interactive part of my launch night, which consisted of the question, What childhood toys have you still got at home? This connects the spectator with a nostalgic rush of emotions. Overall, the project was definitely a success, even without a launch evening. The next exhibition Ill host will be with all my artwork from this event within my garden for all my friends to appreciate my work.
