6.What have you learnt about technologies from theprocess of constructing this product?

Survey monkey helped me to create my questionnaire for target audience feedback. After creating my questionnaire on here I sent and email to people from my target audience (I sent more than 10, the more I send the more I can analyse results) they just had to click my link and take 2 minutes to fill in my survey. This was Fast and easy other than me having to go round with a pen and paper to people of my target audience.

Scanner This piece of technology enabled me to scan in different magazines and my drafts and was therefore particularly helpful during my research and planning stages. It enabled me to highlight and evidence what I was discussing in the research and also prove that I had planned my pages before going into production and post-production of my magazine.

I used a messaging App called “Whatsapp”, my phone to call and face book to contact some of my friends to get feedback on my final cover page, contents page and double page spread. Whatever negative comments I had received I made sure that I had fixed them up to make everything perfectly positive. These sources were a very helpful way for my to communicate with them at home.

I used Slideshare to upload my PowerPoint presentations and Microsoft World documents. By uploading my work onto Slideshare I found it easier to transfer my work onto my research, planning/construction and evaluation blogs because I only had to copy and paste in the embed code. Slideshare made it easier for me to transfer my work and make my work look more visually appealing.

With this coursework task I found Blogger.com extremely useful to use; it has been the main programme that I have used during it. I found it easy to keep track of my work using its online record system which we have kept all of our media work on and I have used it to update and record all of the work that I have done for this task and others so far it also allowed me to present my work in a clear and consistent way. In this task I have used Blogger.com to blog the production, research and planning and also post production on my magazine. I found it easy to use and to sign up for it; and also to maintain anything that needs doing or updating on my magazine; I think Blogger.com is an excellent source for recording work with. The fact that you can embed videos and slideshows as well as add images to it; helped me a lot with the project as it allowed me to narrate and show how I did things and also find different technologies in order to do so

Most important element in my work was Photoshop, this is were my magazine was made, at first I would edit and cut out images which I could then insert into the magazine, as well as creating effects. These tools were used to cut around an image.Clone toolSpot Healing tool allows you to remove blemishes from the face when airbrushing.EraserBurn, Dodge and sponge tools allows you to accentuate or take out colours.The layers tab allows me to put different thing on different layers so that I can work separately on them.Typography tool allows you to pick a font

Internet ExplorerThis was a crucial part of my work as it allowed me to connect to the internet to access and upload my work onto blogger and to watch tutorials for airbrushing images on Photoshop. The Internet has had the biggest impact on how my magazine has looked. The use of the internet allowed me to look at lots of magazines online for how they appear, the styles in which they are presented and colour schemes and fonts they use.. I also used the Internet for guides for Photoshop as well as how to use SlideShare and other software's I was slightly unfamiliar. The Internet is a valuable tool where in which without it, the world would not be how it is today.

Microsoft Word has allowed me to prepare the written feature for my double page spread and also to draft my

blog posts to ensure they make sense

I have used Youtube several times to upload videos to my evaluation. The videos I had created with windows live movie maker could not be uploaded onto blogger therefore I created a YouTube account to get these videos onto then straight onto blogger

Windows live movie maker was to enable me to get sound and pictures together and make it like a slideshow, I used this quite a lot and It was very beneficial

Using windows live hotmail enabled me to receive any surveys from my peers regarding their magazine also I used this to send my survey to my target audience, its quick and helpful

On my PC I came across Sound Recorder. This enabled me to create sound for example my voice when talking, and then place it onto windows live movie maker so I could get both sound and pictures together

I used SoundCloud to recorded myself when answering evaluation question after recording I embedded this sound onto my blogger profile

This was used for taking pictures for my magazine and proved extremely helpful. The fact that it was digital rather than a traditional camera meant that instantly I could see what I’d taken and had the option whether to keep it or not. Due to the large amount of space on the camera I was able to keep all of the pictures until I could see them on the larger computer screen. The fact that I could see what I’d taken however was very useful as I knew if I was along the right lines of what I’d envisioned or whether I needed to change the camera angle to achieve a different end photograph.

Microsoft PowerPoint 2003/2007 I used this software for the PowerPoint’s I created for the research, production and evaluation process. This helped me to explain a lot of information but concisely in a visual way, it was one of the main elements used

This is an online mind mapping website which was very helpful for me to use in my evaluation it, it was also visually impressing

A Pc is the main element of technology used throughout my entire production. If I didn’t use this there would be no production
