How did you use new media technologies in the construction and

research, planning and evaluation stages?

Technologies Used• I used a Sony 16.1

megapixel camera, as well as Vegas Pro 11 to help shoot and edited my preliminary task. By using these, it helped as ‘baby steps’, to help me prepare for the key task and using a more advanced software and equipment.

• For editing my poster and magazine, the key things I used was Adobe Photoshop CS4 and dafont.com. I used DaFont to help create the text that I was going to place in my poster and magazine cover. I used Adobe Photoshop CS4 to help me edit, change and create my products.

• The key things that I used to create everything individually, as well as in a group, was a Samsung Notebook Laptop and a Apple iMac computer. Whilst in school, I was able to use the iMac, specifically for Final Cut Pro, and whilst I was away from these facilities, I was able to use my laptop which had some systems on it such as Photoshop and Vegas Pro 11, therefore, when I wasn’t at school, I could continue individual work.

• The key media technologies I used during the construction of our movie trailer was a Nikon D5100 camera, an SD memory card and lastly a tripod. The Nikon camera was an upgrade from the Sony camera I used for my individual preliminary task. It shot our scenes much better, with better quality in sound and lighting. Also, the key reason for the use of the tripod is due to shaky hands. Whilst the camera-man is recording, hands tend to shake, therefore, using a tripod provided us with better quality in visuals, which would be saved on to the SD camera card.

• As a group, we used Final Cut Pro X to edit, construct and create our final product. In comparison to Vegas Pro, Final Cut is a more advanced, professional software, therefore it’ll ensure a better quality of work, which develops the forms and conventions of a real media product.

• Issuu – This is a website which helped me construct my documents into a more interesting, presentable way, which is creative, with styles of animation. I enjoyed using this as I’ve never used anything such as this.

• Prezi – Prezi is similar to Issuu, nevertheless, it helps me create a whole slide in a quicker, more dynamic approach, which provides good visual productions.

• Slideshare – Slideshare allowed me to upload PowerPoint's and construct it in a simple way, which then uploads online, therefore, it can be accessed by the public.

• I used YouTube during the research, planning and construction of my product in multiple ways. I used it to research into movie trailers, as well as find soundtracks with my group, also, uploading our drafts of our trailers on to there, therefore it’ll be easily accessible.

• The key things I used in Microsoft Office was PowerPoint, Excel and Word Document, I used these to help sort my feedback, create analysis's and also presentations.

• I used Google Docs to upload my research and other constructed items from Microsoft Office online.

• Blogger was the key media technology I used during the research and mainly construction and evaluation of my media product.

• I used it, mainly, to upload my work, receive feedback from people and add changes to my work.

• Also, it was used to help give feedback to those in our class who were creating similar products.
