FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 17, 2015 Lisa Pilon, Assistant Director of Public Affairs Lansing Michigan Stake, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (989) 413-5359 | [email protected] PRESS RELEASE Annual 2015 Lansing MI Day of Service, June 27th The 2ND Annual Lansing Michigan Day of Service is a collective community impact day of service powered by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and City of Lansing in partnership with American Red Cross and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Lansing.
LANSING, MI - On Saturday, June 27, 2015, 9:00 a.m.-3:15 p.m., The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 431 East Saginaw Street East Lansing, MI 48823, is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Lansing Michigan Day of Service. The service event brings will bring together 835+ volunteers, city agencies and organizations, the American Red Cross and multiple churches together in order to make a collective impact on several locations and unique projects in and around the MI State Capital, Lansing as well as East Lansing and more. Thousands of dollars and donated items have been collected to distributed and utilized for the event.
An Event Highlight: Thousands of small American Flag grave markers, used by cemeteries to mark the graves of Veteran on Veteran’s Day and Memorial Days, will be cleaned and replaced. Grave stones and cemetery grounds will be cleaned up and reclaimed from brush and deer damage. Event Facts:
