Hands on learners in 3/4M

3/4M have been getting hands on with their learning this term. They have had both Mrs Martin and Mrs Taylor in the class with the fabulous Uncle Charlie, Rachel and Ms D and the extra hands on deck has made it possible for us to try out some new activities. The students have been building on their block coding skills with the robot mouse nicknamed Jerry and the Dash robots. They have also embraced some deadly dancing during the cultural lessons with Uncle Shane and Uncle Charlie and built up their fitness levels with Mr Kilby at the Thursday afternoon fitness sessions. The class have also begun Junior Master Chef Master Classes. Each week we cook a different cuisine from one of the 5 countries we are studying in Geography. So far we have made Pavlova – New Zealand, Butter Chicken – Indian and Coconut KauKau – Papua New Guinea.

Dear parents, carers and community members,Welcome to week 8 after what we hope was a lovely Father’s Day for all. It was wonderful to have our P&C supply gifts for our Father’s Day stall, it was greatly appreciated by all.

PLPs: This week our teachers will continue to contact parents and carers to discuss student learning progress and future targets. Thank you to all families who have engaged with this process which has been conducted by phone due to the current COVID restrictions.

As we move into our new 4 year planning cycle we ask all families to have your say about our school by completing the Tell Them From Me survey: http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/8csp3 This information enables us to compile community opinion and expectation to assist in the formation of our School Plan moving forward. Thank you to all who have already completed the survey.

We have seven exciting acts who have made the final performance for Casino West’s Got Talent and we look forward to seeing this performance on Thursday 17 September. Congratulations! What a great job Mrs Scott has done of organising the event. Unfortunately parents and family members are still not able to enter school grounds so we will be recording the acts and sharing on our Facebook page.

Canteen CLOSEDon Thursday 3 September.

Sorry for any inconvenience. Regards, Tegan Knight. P&C President.

This week our School Athletics Carnival will take place on Friday 11th Sept (weather permitting), again families will not be able to enter school grounds but we will take lots of photos and report our results next week in the newsletter.

It was wonderful to attend both our Infants and Primary Assemblies this week to celebrate the learning progress of our students. They were the best and most respectful assemblies I have attended this year and the classes should all be very proud of themselves.

We hope you all have a great week!

This is the link for the parent survey which will be open for the rest of Term 3:ihttp://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/8csp3Please take the time to do the survey and give us your feedback. This data will be utilised to inform our new 2021 School Plan.

Our value this week is

HONOUR

Honour means doing what you believe to be right and being confident that you have done what is right. It is the quality of knowing and doing what is morally right.

To honour someone means to treat them or regard them with special attention and to show a high amount of respect.

At Casino West we honour each other in every direction - teacher to teacher, teacher to student, student to teacher, teacher to parent, child to parent. Honour, when done right is like a tree with many branches. A tree flourishing

and bursting with life. May we always be people who honour one another?
