PAUD-MULSHI SOCIAL VISIT

We the SOCHwale carried out this visit at a village of Katkari Tribe named Indra

Nagar. Here with the help of Jeevan Samwardhan Foundation we conducted many events

with children here. Also we donated them some required stuff since they were starving for basic

needs. Also the Lonavla sightseeing was included in the event with an overnight stay at the

VERSOVA BEACH CLEAN-UP DRIVE

Versova, 6th September, 2017

The SOCH team organized a clean-up drive on Versova beach on the next morning after

Anant Chaturdashi. About 70 young volunteers collaborated with the BMC and other volunteers,

and worked diligently to restore the original beauty of the beach. The SOCH team was

accompanied by respected Professors and Principal of “Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology.”

The event began from 7:00 am to 9:00 am but few volunteers started the work since the early

morning. With their entry, they joined the other volunteers who were working really hard for

bringing the clean sand back!

SOCIAL VISIT TO “LITTLE ANGELS”

Madh island, Malad(W), 15th August, 2017

The SOCH team decided to visit ‘Joanna J Buthallo organisation's Little Angel English School’.

In the beginning, we had an introduction with the kids they then headed with the kids to make

rubber bracelets, the game session where in, the team played games with the kids. It was our

Independence Day anniversary, hence one of the guy from the team sang patriotic songs

remembering the struggle of our leaders and our ancestors. The kids anticipated enthusiastically.

The team members also illustrated and explained various science experiments to the kids. The

kids, being naturally curious, enjoyed learning the science behind those fun experiments.

ART WORKSHOP AT ASHA KIRAN FOUNDATION

VERSOVA, 3rd August, 2017

The SOCH had organised an art workshop on 3rd of August, 2017, for the children of

Kapaswadi who had assembled for their tuitions, conducted by the 'Asha Kiran Foundation’. The

children were taught the art of quilling, origami and making creative bracelets. The total number

of students was about 50. A group went on to teach origami while another group guided the

children towards making intricate designs using quilling. The third group taught the children how

to create bracelets by merely utilizing a couple of rubber bands. The children felt contented with

the newly acquired art skills.

PAUD-MULSHI SOCIAL VISIT

Paud, Pune. 15Th & 16th July, 2017

We revisited Paud Adivasi village in Mulshi taluka, Pune, Maharashtra. The Soch members took

lot of efforts in order to carry out this activity. We conducted a donation drive prior to the visit

which helped us to collect various items for the village people. In donations we received books,

notebooks, other study materials, schoolbags, charts and papers, art colours, clothes, toys, food

items, etc. In this visit, we conducted drawing sessions for the kids and distributed

aforementioned stuff. Tree plantation was also a part of our visit.

Seminar on “Shape your Destiny”

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, 22nd March 2017

SHAPE YOUR DESTINY was a seminar planned and conducted by SOCH in

association with Jeevan Vidya Mission in our college RGIT. This seminar was conducted on 22nd

March 2017(Wednesday) in Auditorium of RGIT. The speaker for the day was Ashish Kulkarni,

a very experienced speaker.

Currently Ashish Kulkarni is Principal Consultant with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), one of

the largest IT Consulting Company in India. He is BE Electrical, (Sardar Patel College of

Engineering, University of Mumbai, India). He has also perceived MMS in Marketing, (Somaiya

Institute of Management Studies & Research, University of Mumbai, India). He also has an

International experience when he was posted in London in 2004-05 to handle Consulting Sales

for TCS. Sir was introduced to Jeevanvidya philosophy through books of Satguru Shri

Wamanrao Pai in 1997 by a group of Jeevanvidya volunteers. Since then he is an ardent

practitioner of the Jeevanvidya Philosophy for past 19 years.

KAPASWADI CLEAN-UP DRIVE

Kapaswadi, Andheri,

21st January, 2017

On the morning of January 21, The SOCH successfully conducted its first of the many

social events for the year. With encouraging support from students of RGIT, The SOCH carried

out a massive CLEAN-UP drive in association with the K/W Ward SWM department of MCGM,

near the college at Versova and areas around Kapaswadi and Ganesh Nagar in Andheri West.

Slogans were raised amidst the morning hustle and bustle, walls were painted, and posters were

displayed to promulgate the importance of cleanliness. The event was a perfect start to the many

amazing events planned for this year.

JOY OF GIVING….

R.G.I.T. , 5 Oct, 2016 to 10 Oct, 2016

The SOCH celebrated Joy Of Giving week by conducting Donation Drive in the college

campus. We received all types of donations including Utensils, Books, Clothes, Bags, and many

more things. The donations received were donated to DESIRE society (HIV Aids Orphanage),

Salam Balak (Orphanage).

AUTISM GUIDANCE CAMP

17th September 2016

Suvan Foundation conducted an 'Autism Guidance Camp' on 17th September 2016. Autism

families got a chance to connect with extremely experienced therapists and trainers. It was

supported by Tata Consultancy Services and The SOCH.

TREE PLANTATION DRIVE

Munda Dongar, Ghodbunder, 3rd September, 2016

The SOCH Oragnised a Tree Plantation Drive with help of Hariyali Foundation at

Munda Dongar, Ghodbunder. Along with the enjoyment in the Mother Nature’s womb we also

planted many saplings there and the returned the favor. Thanks a lot to the Hariyali Foundation

for giving us this opportunity to extend our contribution towards their challenging afforestation

program. For all the saplings we planted, hope we go back someday to see them fully grown, for

that would be the most beautiful and satisfying feeling in life!

VISIT TO OLD AGE HOME

Keshav Srushti, Bhayandar, 15th August, 2016

"Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on

the light." The darkest and most tragic of times for those abandoned by their family during the

most helpless phase of life, taught us this very thing. Around 40 students took a visit to the old

age home. Some of the students performed a drama. We had a dance performance with them

seeing the smile with happiness. We played antakshari with them and had a game to guess

Bollywood dialogues of some famous celebrities.

THE HUMANITY CUP

Vile Parle, 19th & 20th March, 2016

There are kids in this world who are deprived of proper education, going to schools where

electricity is a rare thing. Trying to contribute towards the betterment of such school, The SOCH

committee of RGIT in collaboration with Vile Parle Premier League had organised for a football

tournament 'THE HUMANITY CUP' on 19th and 20th of march. 32 teams stood up for this

cause. The fund raised was invested in buying Inverter for the ' Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram'.

On 14th June, 18 members of SOCH visited the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, located in the interior

of karjat. We were totally ensured that the inverters donated by SOCH is put into proper use by

the school to overcome the electricity problem faced by them.

HEALTH CHECKUP CAMP BY SAMAST MAHAJAN

Damu Nagar, Kandivali East, 5th March, 2016

After the unfortunate event of fire in Damu Nagar (Kandivali East), Samast Mahajan has

constantly been working on rehabilitation of the slum caught in fire.

On 5th March we volunteered for health check up camp organised by SAMAST MAHAJAN.

Different health check ups were made available for free and also awareness was spread among

children and women about Basic hygiene,TB,HIV, AIDS etc.

VISIT TO SCHOOL

Cama road Municipal School,Andheri, 6th February, 2016

The SOCH members visited Cama road Municipal School,Andheri to educate children about

Indian Constitution and its founder Dr.Ambedkar.We also told them about the basic rights

offered to every child by our constitution through different fun activities.

BEACH CLEANING

Versova Beach, 28th September, 2015

The SOCH had independently organized a Beach Cleaning Drive (post Anant

Chaturdashi) at Versova on 28th of September, Monday. Twenty three students, including 6

S.E.s and remaining T.E.s, had joined us.

Paper, thrashes, plastics and glass were collected. The garlands, flowers, fruits, coconuts were

taken away from the beach .The broken idols, immersed into the water, lost in the sand were

discovered and had been put at a proper place for the Municipal Corporation to collect. The

water at the shore contaminated by the flowers, fruits' remains and plastics were cleaned.

VISIT TO DESIRE SOCIETY

Desire Society Orphanage for HIV positive children, 2nd August, 2015

The SOCHwale decided to pay homage to our former President, renowned scientist, an

ideal to generations, Hon'ble Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, by imitating his hobby of having a joyful

interaction with children. The team visited Desire Society Orphanage for HIV positive children.

The orphanage, located in Goregaon west, houses 30 children of age of 4-18 years. A small

interactive session was conducted by Prof. D.K. Chakradev with the help of students of RGIT.

The session included showing videos, narrating his stories to children who were all ears to know

more about our 'missile-man'. We also tried to convey his lessons, dreams, ideals and vision for

country. We also distributed books, school stationery, chocolates to children and they were

accepted with a graceful 'Thank You'. The children, at the end of session were sure filled with

inspiration to dream big, to work hard to fulfill them, to work for India, betterment of human

race and most importantly-Vision 2020.
