The Mira Everclear is a single mode handset. It is suitable for most mixer showersand for electric showers over 9kW.

This Handset has been specifically designed for use in hard water areas. The designincorporates an automatic self drain action and pins to resist and clear lime scalebuild up.

The face of the handset is cleared with pins coming through the spray plate to stopthe build up of lime scale. The pressure of the water moves the spray plate over thepins which enables the holes in the handset to be automatically cleaned.

The Mira Everclear shower handset is available in white or chrome.

Alternative Nozzles

The showerhead has been been fitted with low capacity spray unit, which is suitablefor a pressure of 0.06 – 0.5 bar (0.6 – 5 m head). This is suitable for most showerinstallations and electric showers, but for high pressure installations the spray forcemay be too powerful for comfortable showering. In high-pressure installations, suchas gas water heaters that require a higher flow rate to operate correctly, werecommend that the high capacity spray unit be fitted.

The high capacity spray unit is also included in the pack.

Installation

Slide Bar Installation

Note! For dry lined, stud partition, shower cubicle or laminated panel walls the installermay wish to obtain alternative proprietary cavity fixings. Use of these alternative fixingsis beyond the scope of this guide.

Before Installing

Before installing the slide bar, consider these placement tips:

1. Position the slide bar at a heightthat allows the handset to beadjusted to a convenient positionfor all the family.

2. Position the slide bar to one side ofthe shower control so that the hosewill not interfere with the control.

3. Position the slide bar so that thespray from the handset dischargesaway from the shower control, anddown the centre line of the bath oracross (rather than into) the showercubicle opening.

4. Position the slide bar so that, when thehose retaining ring is placed in thelowest position on the slide bar, thereis a minimum 25 mm distance betweenthe handset and the spill-over level ofthe bath or shower tray. This is tocomply with water regulationspreventing back-siphonage.

4. Remove the applicator from the topof the slide bar and store it for futureuse.

3. With the clamp bracket button fullydepressed, carefully ease the slidebar (applicator end first) throughthe hole in the clamp bracket. Takecare not to dislodge the clampbracket mechanism or the frictionpad.

1. Remove the warning label from

button recess in the clamp bracket.

2. Fit the clamp bracket button into theclamp bracket. The button will onlyfit one way.

6. Fit the two slide bar supports to theends of the slide bar. Ensure thatthe slots in the slide bar are alignedwith the lugs in the support, andensure that the supports are pushedfully home.

7. Put the slide bar in position on thewall and make sure that it is uprightand level.

8. Mark the position of the fixing holes.

Warning! Ensure that there are noburied cables or pipes in the wallbefore drilling.

9. Remove the slide bar assembly anddrill two 8 mm holes as marked.

10. Insert the wall plugs.

11. Secure the bottom slide bar supportto the wall using screws. Ensurethat the screws are fully tightened.

12. Screw the top slide bar support tothe wall loosely. Press firmly downon the support and, while stillpressing downward, fully tighten thescrews.

13. Fit the end caps to the slide barsupports.

14. Check that the slide bar does notrotate or move up and down. If thereis movement, remove the slide barfrom the wall and check that thesupport lugs are properly engagedwith the slots in the side bar, andthat the supports are pushedcompletely into the slide bar ends.Refit the slide bar assembly.

5. Slide the hose retaining ring onto theslide bar below the clamp bracket.

1. Screw the Mira shower hose ontothe outlet of the shower control.Make sure that the hose washer isfitted.

Caution! Do not overtighten thehose.

2. Pass the hose through the hoseretaining ring. Screw the handsetinto the remaining end of the showerhose. Make sure that the hosewasher is fitted.

3. Place the handset in the clampbracket assembly.

Operation

Spray Settings

The Everclear handset has three operation modes:

1. The flow of water automaticallypushes the spray plate forward,sealing it against the retainer andallowing showering to start.

2. Turning off the flow of waterautomatically allows the spray plateto retract to the rest position,causing a series of pins to clear anyscale from the holes. Water left inthe shower head will drain away.

3. If the spray plate should becomestuck, it can be pressed furtherinwards by the user, this will clearany additional scale from the holes.Once released, it will return to therest position.

To clean or replace the Spray Unit:

4. If cleaning remove any debris/scalewith a stiff brush and wash out.

5. Ensure that the profile seal andouter spring are located into theholder.

6. Refit or renew the spray unit, (ensurethe spray plate seal is fitted).

7. Screw in the retainer in a clockwisedirection.

8. Push on and snap the shroud intoplace.
