Hampton Rhodes is a beautiful, private subdivision of custom built homes in Sterling, Massachusetts. Welcome to SterlingWelcome to SterlingSterling, called “Woonkechauxitt” by the Nashawogg tribe of Indians who inhabited the area, was settled in 1720. Apple orchards thrived in the fertile soil and apple cider making became an important industry, earning the town the nickename “Appletown.”

The Butterick Pattern Company was stared here in 1863.

The common, actually owned by the Unitarian Socity, has other monuments and two stone chairs found in the area, believed to be Indian artifacts.

Sterling mantains a town beach, Sholan Park, on the shores of Lake Waushacum. The town celebrates the Fourth of July with a huge picnic held at the park. Swimming lessons are also available to town children there during the summer.

Sterling is ideally located on Interstate 190, which links Worcester to Leominster. Town residents are also only minutes from Route 2 and the 495 belt around Boston. Commuting is easy and convenient.

Sterling Countryside BuildersSterling Countryside BuildersFounded in 1986, Sterling Countryside Builders, Inc. is a unique contracting business. Known for its high-quality, creatively designed homes, SCB has built more than a dozen subdivisions in Sterling and the surrounding communities. Their accomplishments include numerous custom-built homes in the area.

Ralph Meunier and Dick Magdis formed SCB together almost 20 years ago. Since then, they have added talented, experienced contractors to their team.

Ralph Meunier comes from a contracting background, helping his father in his business as a young man. Ralph graduated from Bryant College with a B. S. in Business Administration. He was a captain in the Air Force, working as an instructor and navigator flying missions over Viet Nam and the Pacific for six years. Ralph then worked for General Electric as a Corporate Financial Analysis and Manager for 17 years. As president of SCB, he is currently in charge of the financial contracts and works closely with the buyers.

Dick Magdis earned an Associate Degree in Engineering from Worcester Junior College, a B. S. in Business Administration from Clark University, and an MBA from Clark University. For 29 years, Dick worked for Norton Company in engineering and managerial roles. He held several supervisory and plant management positions during that time. Dick and his father built a 20-unit apartment complex and a number of residential homes while employed by Norton Company. He went to work full-time at SCB in 1994 and is currently in charge of developing the infrastructure and heavy equipment for the subdivisions SCB builds.

Rob Levada was raised in a contracting family. Watching his father, a contractor, reproduce specialty architectural features inspired Rob to become a great craftsman and contractor. Voted the most outstanding in trade in 1980, Rob graduated from the Montachusett Regional Technical High School. He was one of the first licensees and construction supervisors in the state at the age of only 18. For three years, Rob worked for Rural Housing Inc. as a self-help program construction supervisor prior to starting his own construction business in 1983. He has used autocad software since 1991 to custom design amazing new homes. Joining SCB as a partner in 1998, Rob has trained his crew in specialty detailed joinery that helps set this company apart as specialists in their field. Rob is currently the Manager of Operations.

Lending their skills, talent and myriad experience to this company, these men have created a reputation for high quality and attention to detail.
