Our mission is to provide outstanding languagetraining for corporations, individuals and school programs, facilitating the interaction of cultures from all over the world.Coloquia’s instructors are multi-lingual and multi-cultural ensuring the students get exposed to cultural influences as well asthe grammatical aspects of the language being taught. All of our instructors are professionals who have undergone extensivetraining in the methods of teaching languages.Coloquia Language Arts also makes translations and interpretations for American and international companies, as well asindividuals.

Teacher Description

This course approach is prepared for children who are new to the French Language or for those who are speaking French at home.Children who are enrolled in this program should know they need to work hard during classes because they are going to be learningFrench for the rest of their lives. This course approach is conversational from the beginning. We will cover a wide range of vocabularysprinkled with basic grammar and we will gradually take your child to a conversational stage. During this course your child will learnfrom the basics: greetings, courtesy words, personal information, school things, colors, numbers, notions like up-down, inside-outside,etc, days of the week, weather, family, face and body parts, food, likes and dislikes and more. A Taste of French for Beginners I is somuch fun your child will enjoy this first step in learning the language and understanding the culture passing through a range of culturalsituations like sports, music and food, definitely a great class.

Their programs serve approximately 50 elementaryand middle schools in five school districts in the greater Houston area.

Teacher Description

Investigate the visual arts through hands-on art making, while learning about various artists, art movements, and arttechniques. Time-tested lessons are structures to achieve a creative goal in a fun educational environment. The coursecontent and inspirational images change each semester, allowing students to explore art on a continual basis withoutrepetition. Students will work with a range of materials and techniques including drawing, painting, printmaking, andsculpture.

Their programs serve approximately 50 elementary and middle schools in five schooldistricts in the greater Houston area.

Teacher Description

Art Smart is an early learning program that introduces young children to art by letting their natural creative abilities unfold ina fun environment. While students explore color, texture, shapes, and different types of art materials, they learn to freelyexpress their feeling and ideas through art projects.Art Smart is designed to help children develop fine motor skills, perceptual thinking, and creative problem solving whilebuilding an appreciation of art. Students will work with a range of art materials and techniques tailored to their specificdevelopmental level.

We strive to educate children in the basic ideas/techniques of dance/cheer/gymnastics in an environment wherechildren have fun while learning. A class where kids can get away and enjoy an hour of fun! We will cover learning the proper baseball mechanics in hitting,fielding, and throwing; and most importantly, a basic understanding of the game and rules by working on basic skills anddrills. Elite International will work with all students to improve their skills, such as: hitting, catching, fielding and throwing.

Miss Haiguang Jin (Miss Julia), owner of I Love Chinese earned a B.A. in Linguistics from China 12 years ago. She hastaught Chinese in the United States for more than eight years. She presently teaches in six preschools inside the loopincluding Rice, Cathedral House, ST. Paul. In addition, she also has a studio located in the Rice Village.

Teacher Description

For young children's conversation classes we will be working on greetings, comments, and ordering food in the restaurant,etc. Students learn Chinese in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere through games, songs, movies and role-playing theclassroom.

Camp Einstein was formed in Houston, TX by a group of educators and technology professionals. Our staff is committed to providing aworld class curriculum for children ages 5-12. We deliver a hands-on, minds-on enrichment experience in a fun and creative way.Camp Einstein classes evoke imagination and discovery through scientific projects. Our unique curriculum is just as entertaining as it iseducational. At Camp Einstein, campers are engaged in hands-on lessons and are motivated to use their critical thinking skills whilelearning principles central to engineering, the earth, and the physical sciences. We offer after- school enrichment classes, summer andwinter camps, birthday parties, and workshops. We are proud to be serving the creative little minds of Texas!

In this class, explore topics in Engineering, Science and CSI Investigation. Design propeller cars and roller coasters. Explore volcanoesand build a rocket to launch into the sky. USA Chess has been teaching children from beginners to experienced tournament chess players for over 15 years. Ourstaff is carefully selected both for their ability to play (all are experienced tournament players) and to teach the game in afun, entertaining and interesting way.

Teacher Description

Children of all ages and abilities will be taught the game of chess from experienced tournament players. Lessons are tailored to theabilities of the class. Beginners will be taught the basics (how the pieces move, the rules, etc. ) while more experienced players will begiven problems to solve, lessons in tactics, checkmates, openings, etc. Children will be split into groups by ability if more than 20 childrenenroll.

The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft is a nonprofit organization founded to advance education about the process,product, and history of craft. The Center's major emphasis is on objects of art made primarily of fiber, metal, glass, clayand wood. As a resource for both artists and educators, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft offers the community atlarge a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of the handmade through workshops, gallery talks, studiodemonstrations, and educational outreach programs.

Teacher Description

Create animal themed artworks from wood shapes, glass beads, wire, paper, fabric and/or clay. Your creations can be based on real orimaginary animals! Experiment with a variety of materials, techniques, and tools related to craft media: clay, fiber, wood, blass and/ormetal.

Day TimeEn Guarde: Fence for Fun Thur 3:30-4:30

Bayou City Fencing Academy is the oldest and largest fencing facility in Harris County. Our instructors have extensive experienceteaching in both public and private schools. They themselves have all been exceptional fencers. Our fencers have won gold medals inlocal, state and national tournaments and have gone on to some of the most prestigious universities with fencing scholarships. We are amember of the United States Fencing Association and as such have hosted National as well coordinated the Houston NCAA fencingchampionships and senior and junior Olympics.

Teacher Description

Move over three musketeers!! Fencing, a classic sport with history, drama and style, excites the imagination, encourages creativity andbuilds confidence in physical and mental skills. By requiring concentration, discipline and quick decision making, it improves thinkingskills and academic performance. Have fun using fabric, paper, and othermaterials to make accessories for your new doll friends. Create miniature toys, food, dishes, etc. for your dolls out of polymer clay andwire. Crafty Scraps goal is to give you more than what's expected!!!!

Teacher Description

Model-Cars and Airplanes for Kids to Make! When it comes to developing both the creative and technical parts of a child’s mind, anoption worth considering is building transportation models. Make a balloon rocket car, build a metal vintage vehicle, make a race carout of veggies… the options are endless. Working with small parts teaches kids to be detail-oriented and to be organized: we also instillgeometry, math and science with shapes, measurements and tools. The best advantage of all is that the finished pieces can bemounted on display, instilling a sense of accomplishment and pride in the child.

HITS has been a theatre in the Heights for over 25 years. HITS has been helping students achieve life skills through stageskills, addressing the need for a quality performing arts education while providing a nurturing and affirming environment foryoung people to learn and grow as performers and individuals. HITS Theatre is a nonprofit organization with two majorgoals for children in the arts: education and performance. However, a HITS education involves much more than learning tosing, dance and act. It helps transform students into disciplined team players, creative thinkers, and confidentcommunicators. While many of our alumni have gone on to careers in the performing arts, many more have used the lifeskills and confidence they developed at HITS to become successful in other careers, including medicine, law and business.

Origami, the art of paper folding is pure magic. Students will learn about "folds" and "bases" as they transform paper intobeautiful objects. The students will discover mathematic principals and learn appreciation for the complexity and simplicityof this ancient art through the many uses of paper. Each class session will focus on a new project.

This Arcade course is a program using Gamemaker software a different program than in 2014-15! The game that is created hasaction for each level all on one screen similar to Centipede, Asteroids, or Pac Man. The main character (which the childrencreate) can be anything. Other characters (enemies) pursue the main character from off the screen or move about the screen.The character dodges the attacks of the enemies while scoring points for picking up objects and destroying the enemy objects.Options are endless and children create level after level for a full week of fun.
