Our qualifi cation program aims at supporting the effi cient and successful progress of your doctorate, as well as your personal and professional development.

The three-day Kick-Off Seminar is the starting point to provide you with orientation as well as interdisciplinary exchange and networking opportunities with peers at the beginning of your doctoral project. The Scientifi c/Subject-related Qualifi cation Program offered by your Departments and Graduate Centers will help you to dig deeper into your research and fertilize your independent academic work.

The Career-oriented Program is designed to give you specifi c support regarding the planning and realization of careers in dif-ferent sectors.

The academic world is increasingly shaped by internationali-zation. In 2016 the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research published a paper on internationalization in educa-tion, science and research showing that nowadays almost half of the publications in Germany emerge within the context of international cooperation. In times of globalization, we benefi t greatly from intercultural competence and excellent communi-cation skills – regardless of whether we aim for a career within academia or in industry.

During the summer semester 2020, our course program places an emphasis on internationalization and intercultural cooperati-on, by offering you tools to strengthen your intercultural compe-tence and communication skills in an international environment. Moreover we strive to open your eyes to the numerous benefi ts of intercultural cooperation.

In addition to our well-established courses, our offerings cover the following subjects:

It is possible to register eight weeks prior to the course start.

Financial Contribution

The fi nancial contribution for participants is stated in the course program overview as well as on our website. Upon successful registration, you will receive an automated confi rmation email

including our account details. Please transfer the amount within one week after your registration. If the amount is not credited to our account within one week, we will cancel your registration to allow other doctoral candidates to participate.

Cancellation

Should you be unable to attend the course, it is possible to cancel your registration free of charge up to four weeks prior to the course start. We kindly ask you to honor this deadline as your fellow doctoral candidates may be on the waiting list hoping for an opening.
