  • SAMPLE ITINERARYYOUR VISIT TO FLORENCE IS YOURS TO DESIGN. HERE’S HOW ONE TRIP MIGHT LOOK

DAY 2Breakfast at your hotel. You

have the day to explore Florence. Don’t miss the ‘Mercato Centrale

Firenze,’ the newly refurbished covered market in the center of Florence that’s a showcase for Italian edibles—and surrounded by the workshops of some of

    the city’s most renowned artisans.

Enjoy your unlimited 24-hour pass to Hop On/Off an open-top bus at Flor-

ence’s top sights and museums—from the Boboli Gardens and

Pitti Palace to the iconic Duomo.

DAY 3Breakfast at your hotel. Take your pick of one of our free excursions to experience the golden Tuscan

countryside by Vespa scooter or on horseback, followed by lunch and local wine tasting at a country villa. Or, stay in

Florence to visit with Michelangelo’s David and take advantage of VIP ac-cess to the Vasari Corridor, one of

the city’s great (secret) architec-tural treasures.

DAY 4Breakfast at your hotel. Select another optional excursion,

activity, or car rental to explore the Tuscan countryside and

hill towns. Or, take off on your own to shop for some of the best leather

goods in the world. Use your ItaliaPass membership to re-

    ceive additional discounts.

DAY 5Breakfast and free morning to take in

more Renaissance highlights in Florence. Board a high-speed train to

Rome or Milan to catch your flight home, or extend your stay and take advantage of more great deals and special offers

    around Italy!

DAY 1Arrival in Italy! If in Rome,

you have a free VIP pass to the ItaliaPass Lounge in Termini Station.

Relax in style and enjoy an espresso or glass of Prosecco while you wait for your

    train to depart for Florence.

Check in to your 4-star hotel. In the evening, take a stroll across the Ponte Vecchio to the picturesque Oltrarno neighborhood. Use your ItaliaPass

for discounts off dinner there, or at one of Florence’s other top

    restaurants.

  • HOTELSYOUR 4-STAR HOTEL

HOTEL BERNINI PALACE This 15th-century palazzo—a longtime gathering place of politi-cians and protagonists of the Risorgimento—was once the home to the renowned Pera family. Here, elegant Italian style prevails in guestrooms—think Murano glass chandeliers and draped canopy beds—while the lobby’s décor hints at a Moroccan influence. The

historic restaurant and the lobby bar tempt guests to linger, but the irresistible lure of Florence shimmers right outside the hotel’s doors.

    Buffet breakfast daily.

GRAND HOTEL MINERVA Even if you were stubbornly to disregard Grand Hotel Minerva’s

proximity to the heart of Florence on the bustling piazza of Santa Ma-ria Novella, or its history as an elegant mainstay, you would surely not be able to resist the glorious city views from its rooftop bar—or from the rooftop pool. It offers generously sized guest rooms with options

for families and groups. Breakfast included.

HOTEL DE LA VILLE Conveniently located on Via Tornabuoni, Florence’s most popular

shopping street, the classical Hotel de la Ville is also a quick walk to the still-vibrant center of the Florentine Renaissance—the Duomo,

Uffizi Gallery, and Palazzo Antinori, home of the Tuscan winemaking dynasty. Public spaces and guestrooms here feature Florentine décor

and marble detailing. Rate includes an American-style breakfast buffet and nightly aperitivos in the lobby lounge.

C-HOTELS - THE STYLE, FLORENCE Maybe you’d prefer to leave Florentine history outside your hotel room. The Style, an all-suite design hotel, is clean, modern and

bright with nary an antique in sight. The location is ideal—close by the train station and Santa Maria Novella—but except for its up-close

views of the famous skyline, the quiet, stylish hotel feels removed from the fray. Some suites offer kitchenettes, and many are suitable

    for families. Breakfast included.

  • ROOM MATE LUCA The facade of this 1865 palazzo may murmur ‘neoclassical,’ but ‘funky’ best describes the mood inside. Bright rooms featuring

plenty of color, stripes, and patterns lend energy to this design ho-tel off the buzzing streets of Florence’s San Lorenzo neighborhood. While just a stone’s throw from the sites of the city’s historic center, the area’s restaurants and markets are the big draw at Room Mate

Luca. Late breakfast runs until 12 p.m.

HOTEL PLAZA LUCCHESI If the lovely views across the Arno river to the Piazzale Michelan-

gelo and San Miniato al Monte from many of Plaza Hotel Luc-chesi’s balconies don’t win you over, surely the 360-degree view

of Firenze from its rooftop bar will. This 19th-century palazzo, renovated to modern standards, also holds the charm of location: the surrounding neighborhoods, Santa Croce and Sant’Abrogio,

are favorite shopping and dining destinations for locals.

SAN GALLO PALACE Built on the site of a medieval monastery, San Gallo Palace Hotel opened in 2003, artfully blending modern amenities with clas-sical style. In a quiet neighborhood removed from the bustle of

Florence’s historical center, the hotel is able to offer more space to guests: simple spacious guestrooms and a lovely garden terrace.

A shuttle to the central train station and the airport is available, but guests often choose the easy, 15-minute walk into town.

PARK PALACE HOTEL There is a definite brand of guest who will be drawn to this

charming villa—one who appreciates green space and eclectic touches to the classic Italian style. At Park Palace Hotel, a

20-minute walk or 10-minute drive from Florence’s center, you’ll find grand public spaces hung with dog portraits, a reading room and bar, a quiet terrace, shady trees, and a swimming

pool. The 26 rooms include spacious options for families, as well as rooms with balconies or private terraces.

SIENA & SAN GIMIGNANO WITH DINNER IN CHIANTI COUNTRYSIDE

You will be escorted to the beautiful city of Si-ena, which once rivaled Florence for its power, wealth and artistic beauty. Here, you will enjoy a guided walking tour that includes the Piazza del Campo, where the famous Palio horserace takes place every year. The journey continues

to the Tuscan hill town of San Gimignano, famed for its medieval “tower houses” and high walls. After, you will stop for a sunset on the Tuscan

hills, followed by an authentic dinner in an elegant villa in the Chianti countryside.

VIP COOKING CLASS IN VILLA & FARMERS MARKET TOUR

We will start with a short walk to the lively Florence Farmers’ Market, where you will get

to know the butchers, bakers and farmers, taste their products, and purchase fresh ingredients

for the cooking class. You will then be transport-ed to Nobel villa in the Chianti countryside, where our attentive Chef Giovanni will teach you to cook a seasonal Tuscan-style market

meal, to taste Chianti wines, and how to make pasta from scratch. You will leave with Gradua-

    tion Certificate in hand!

PIZZA AND GELATO CLASS WITH FLORENCE WALKING TOUR

Make your own pizza with our professional pizza chef called a pizzaiolo. You will learn how to make yeast dough that stretches to almost paper-thinness, and even the trick

share the history—and expert techniques—for making gelato. Walk it all off and explore

Florence on foot on a guided tour.

TUSCANY BY SCOOTER You will be whisked away to the

Chianti countryside and will then hop on your Vespa scooter for a ride through a picture-perfect landscape of tidy vineyards, medieval castles, magnificent villas and silent mon-asteries. You will then be our guest at a Tuscan castle for lunch, which includes a tasting of local olive oils and the famous Chianti wines, and a guided visit of the ancient cellars. After lunch, we will have you back on your scooter for more scenic photo opps and a secret gelato

break. Duration: 6 hours. *Season and weather permitting.

VIP VASARI CORRIDOR AND UFFIZI GALLERY

You will enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery that in-

cludes masterpieces by artists like Giotto, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo. After breakfast, you are escorted through a secret door to the Vasari Corridor, one of the best-kept secrets of Florence. Hidden between city houses and

even passing through the Ponte Vec-chio, this architectural Renaissance masterpiece dates from 1564 and houses one of the greatest collec-tions of portraits in the world. It is

    rarely open to the public.

HORSEBACK RIDING IN THE TUSCAN COUNTRYSIDE After being shuttled 15 minutes from city center to the Chianti

region, you will be given a brief lesson to get acquainted with your horse, before a relaxed one-hour ride through the vineyards and

olive groves into medieval villages. You will finally arrive at a beautiful

14th-century villa estate, where you are invited to a garden tour, an au-thentic Tuscan lunch, and a special class and tasting of local olive oils and world-famous Chianti wines. No previous riding experience is required, and riding helmets are provided. *Season and weather

    permitting.

TUSCAN WINE TRAIL Learn from expert sommeliers

at two celebrated vineyards in the heart of Tuscany’s wine country.

Test your nose and palate and dis-cover how to taste Sangiovese and

Canaiolo wines—to differentiate the grapes’ unique characteristics, and

even create food pairings. Along the trail, you will get acquainted with the history of wine and the secret to its long-lasting traditions. In addition,

you will also sample some excellent olive oils. Enjoy lunch at a Tuscan trattoria and a visit to a medieval

town before your return to Florence.
