office. To accommodate our schedules I am offering two

training times, Noon and the other at 5:30 PM. There will be

light refreshments at both meetings. Church Treasurer Packets

Notes Along The Journey

Vacation Bible School— During June, I have had the opportunity to visit

four of our churches and see what the Lord is doing through His people.

There is much excitement everywhere and churches are sharing the gospel

in many creative ways with our children. Continue to pray for our churches

who will have VBS this month. A list of the churches can be found in this

newsletter.

Executive Board Meeting—July 9th. This month our Executive Board

meeting will take place at Fowlkes Baptist Church. A meal will be provided

at 6 pm and the meeting will begin at 7 pm. We will look at the budget for

our association for 2019-2020. We will also receive reports from ministries

going on in our Association and a new ministry regarding prayer in which

all our churches can participate. I hope to see you there.

Disaster Relief Training was a tremendous success on June 25. Fifteen

people participated in this training event as we focused on Chain Saw and

Flood Relief ministries. Plans are being made for further training events. If

you are interested in this ministry or if you know someone in your church

who might be interested, please contact either me or Nathe Ozment (my

cell 615-946-5495) (Nathe 731-931-2400).

Outreach Nevada (Aug. 27-Sept. 4, 2019) - Our team is coming together

but we need some musicians to join us for this event. If you can sing or

play Southern Gospel music, or you know someone who would like to

know more about this outreach event, please contact me. Cost will be less

than $600 per person and scholarship money is available through the

Teresa Wright Mission Fund.

Mission Mexico (Jan. 4-11, 2020)— A team from DBA will travel to

Chiapas, Mexico to share the gospel and help with a new church plant. If

you would like to go with us and share your faith, preach, sing, or use other

talents to help in this work, please contact me at 731-285-2727 or 615-946-

5495. Approximate cost will be $1700 which will cover airfare from Mem-

phis, hotels, food, translators, and ground transportation. Scholarships are

also available through the Associational office.

Israel 2020 (Feb 18-27) - Space is still available if you would like to go with

me to the Holy Land next year. If interested, please contact me and I will

provide a color brochure about the trip. Also, look at the other details

provided in this newsletter.

Elon Baptist Church will ordain Bro. Tyler Lynch to the Gospel

Ministry during a special evening service at 5 PM on Sunday, July 21.

We welcome Bro. Lynch and his wife, Amy and family to the new

work at Elon Baptist.
