Amendment rights. The students were peacefully using their right by wearing the armbands as a symbolic protest.• Tinker v. Des Moines – Students began to peacefully wear black
armbands to protest the Vietnam War. These students were then suspended and Tinker filed a Lawsuit stating that their right to Freedom of Speech had been violated.
