• Learning styles are preferences

– Some students prefer to study using graphs and charts. Some prefer hands on subjects or find it easier to grasp material through class discussion.

– This DOES NOT mean that we can not learn in many ways. A visual learner may prefer to study using images but they certainly can learn by listening to lectures or by completing hands-on assignments.

• The number of learning styles is not important.

• Complete the Learning Styles Inventory – Using the Naviance Orientation power point, navigate your way to the

Family Connections portal and log in. Once you are logged in locate the “about me” tab and select the Learning Style Inventory and complete the survey.

– Next find the “Journal” link

– Once you have found the link and selected it add a new journal entry and in the subject line title it as Learning Style Inventory

– Share this entry with your counselors, teachers, and parents.

Your journal entry should address the questions below
