EXITING THE FALL

Exiting The Fall | Boston, MA | www.exitingthefall.com | www.facebook.com/exitingthefall | [email protected]

Despite the little resources we had, this was our first attempt to acquire a ‘professional’ sound. Produced and recorded by Matt Rhodes (And Then There Were None). This was just the beginning of a dream started by five high schoolers who had no idea what they were getting themselves into.

This was the breakthrough EP for us in regards to the local music scene, helping us to earn their respect. We worked very hard and raised close to $4,000 through Kickstarter to fund this EP. We have toured three times with this EP and have earned close to $2,000 from online sales and have currently sold close to 800 physical copies. These songs were written in forms of modern stories that reflect the parables told in the Bible.

This record is the most valuable thing we have done as a band. 80% of the funds put into this record were earned through touring, merch, online sales, etc. and the remaining 20% was paid out of out individual pockets. We were honored to work with producer, Jay Maas (Defeater) at Getaway Studios on this project. This album presents the real life questions that we all have but are often too afraid to ask. Lyrically this album is honest, desperate, and challenging to our every day life.

BIOGRAPHY Where a picture is worth a thousand words, a song can surface a thousand ques-tions. Exiting the Fall brings to life their passion and honesty both on and off stage by be-ing who they say they are; above everything, this band values their relationships with Jesus above all and they show this love wherever they go. In a genre flooded with an abundance of breakdowns and blast beats, Exiting the Fall has found a unique style and sound within the post-hardcore scene where the goal of their music is to raise questions and encourage passionate answers by conveying honesty not only through their lyrics but through their instruments. This band has set their sights on giving hope and encouraging their listeners to examine their lives and seek something greater than themselves.

PRESS“In an industry saturated with electronic sounds and over produced vocal melodies, the organic passion that come's from Exiting The Fall's freshman album stems a fresh and new sound to the genre. The album starts off with a suspenseful introduction that leaves you anticipating the energetic punch you crave. Satisfaction comes as the first 3 songs have you bobbing your head and you may even find yourself pretending to scream the lyrics and sing the perfectly placed catchy melodies while holding an invisible microphone. The band mixes in a decent amount of different guitar riffs and tones, from cleaner precise picking patterns to gritty driving riffs and hard hitting well placed breakdowns. The bass gets a bit of recognition as well with grooves you expect to hear on a jazz album, but blew me away with the perfect riff at the perfect placement at the perfect time. The drum patterns and different beats, not only complement the guitar and bass, but also create an atmosphere within the music that keeps your feet tapping and you may even find yourself imi-tating the beats on your air drums. The lyrical content deals with a wide array of subject matters relevant to today's society that pour out with the obvious passion associated with the heart of the music. They are of all ranges and styles, which helps keep the listener interested and excitedly engaged. The clean vocal melodies are sung with a maturity that you'd expect from veterans of the industry, not on a first full length and help propel the album into a top contender for album of the year, in my opinion.” – Austin Germain, sosaveme (2013)

“Exiting The Fall have gotten off on a great start with the release of Parables. A fresh take on post-hardcore, with a technical edge, the seven-song EP shows off some quality musicianship, and lyrics of hope, and the realization that God is love. I would be glad to hear a full length from the band, although the songs on Parables do satisfy the listener. That being said, look for Exiting The Fall to be making waves in the heavy music scene over the next year, and perhaps years to come.” – http://www.Christianrockrocks.com/ (2011)

“…The message is terrific, and I'm impressed that they were able to convey it in somewhat of a poetic way instead of writing mediocre lyrics to get their message out there.… For the audio portion, Exiting the Fall is easily one of the better independent hardcore bands I've heard in recent memory. Hardcore is one of those genres that more people think they can pull off than should probably even attempt at. But these Bostonians are pretty talented…. Exiting the Fall's latest EP was a pleasant surprise. With all the hardcore bands in the independent scene, it can become a daunting task to find good ones. I have high hopes for these guys. I wouldn't be surprised to see them come up and make a bigger name for themselves in the not so distant future…” – www.Jesusfreakhideout.com (2011)

“...These guys have some serious potential. This is a solid second EP for Exiting The Fall. This band has made so many improvements talent wise and it shows that these guys are showing no signs of slowing.” – Brutal Reviews (2011)
