Today I learned about ... “A Special Prayer; Hannah’s Baby”. Hannah did not have any children, and wanted a son. She prayed and prayed for a son. One day at the temple she cried as she prayed, “God if you will give me a son of my own, I will give him back to You to work in the temple.” Eli, the priest saw her praying. “I will pray that God will bless you with what you want.” It wasn’t long before Hannah did have a baby of her own. The baby was a boy, and she named him Samuel. She was so happy. She bowed her head and prayed, “Thank You, God. I will not forget my promise to You: I promised that if You would give me a baby boy of my very own, I would give him back to You to live in Your house with Your servant Eli. So shall I do!” When the time came, Hannah kept her promise. She took Samuel to live in God’s house. Each year, Hannah visited Samuel. And each time, she took him a present-a new coat that she made with her own hands. And each year, Samuel pleased God more and more.
