ExodusA Book of Law—Old Testament

Author: Moses

When It Happened: 1635–1490 BC

Chapters: 40

Key People: Moses, Pharaoh, Aaron, Joshua

Summary: Exodus tells about the Jews, their bond-age and slavery in Egypt, and their deliverance by God through His servant Moses. We witness God’s power in the plagues and His judgment as the final plague—the plague of death—sweeps over Egypt.

God miraculously provided food and water for His people as they escaped from Egypt, crossed the Red Sea, and wandered in the desert. They received His Law and ex-perienced His presence day and night as He guided and protected them on their way to the Promised Land.

About God: God is faithful to His promises and will pro-vide for His people.
