In 2016, iSPACE experienced its own “Big Bang”, expanding our universe in multiple ways...
• Moved to larger facility
• Provided Summer Camps for 650 K-12 students (+8% vs. 2015)
• Served over 6,000 K-12 students via field trips (+41% vs. 2015)
All of this was made possible by the generosity of supporters like you. Grant income continued to be strong this year - a testament to the quality and value of the programs we offer. In addition, individual contributions were up 44% vs 2015.
We’re looking forward to reaching even more students and teachers in 2017!

Inaugural Ingage Partners Social Impact Fund Award presented to iSPACE
Ingage Partners Social Impact Fund awarded $15,500 and 200 hours of volunteer time to iSPACE in the first Ingage Partners Social Impact Fund Award. iSPACE will use the funds and volunteer hours for curriculum development for the IGNITE Engineering program. iSPACE’s IGNITE Engineering is a program intended for kindergarten through sixth-grade students to learn to become problem solvers while learning science, technology, engineering and math concepts and skills.
“iSPACE is honored to be the recipient of the inaugural Ingage Social Impact Fund grant. Your investment in iSPACE validates our efforts to develop career pathways for our region’s future STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) workforce. As well as the generous financial gift, we are especially proud to have Ingage employees partner with us by contributing 200 volunteer hours.” – Linda Neenan, iSPACE

iSPACE moves
to a new home
In June, 2016, iSPACE relocated to a new building located at 100 Scarlet Oaks Drive. The move more than triples the educational space and sets iSPACE up for expanding programs in 2017 and beyond. Our location remains on the Great Oaks campus and we are excited to continue the long standing partnership with Great Oaks to deliver our educational programs in a much improved setting.

students talk to
Astronauts on
International
Space Station
On Saturday, October 8, 2016, a crowd of over 100 gathered at iSPACE for an historic opportunity to talk with Astronaut Kate Rubins while she orbited the earth on the International Space Station. The activity was part of the ARISS (Amateur Radio on the International Space Station) Program, which promotes learning opportunities as part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiative. Students were able to ask questions of Astronaut Kate Rubins with help from the West Chester Amateur Radio Association from the Voice of America Museum of Broadcasting.
“Amazing time today spending time listening to kids talking over HAM radio to Kate Rubins on the ISS! Amazing! Hats off to iSPACE and the West Chester Amateur Radio Association! Once in a lifetime opportunity indeed!”

LEARN HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
“This is by far my favorite field trip program! It’s very engaging and students learn so much about the many factors that are involved in planning a mission, as well as how important it is to learn to work together…Thank you very much for a job well done!” – Pattison 5th Grade Teacher
“The 2 classes we just had at Guardian Angels were terrific! The feedback is so positive. One 1st grader told me he would pay for the class with his own money, that is how much he liked it!” – Kathleen Armstrong, Guardian Angels After-School program coordinator
iSPACE is expanding our universe!
“Thank you all for nurturing our children as you would your own.” – FLL Tournament Parent
“iSPACE will ruin you for the traditional passive field trip. Our students worked in pairs to create a LEGO® model and then wrote computer code to make the alligator’s mouth open and shut. Our trip to iSPACE demonstrated STEM learning at its finest.” – Linda Westendorf, Corryville Catholic Principal
“This was the best field trip I’ve ever attended! Our 60 students were thoroughly engaged and motivated. I overheard many of my kids say that this was the best field trip ever! Thank you, thank you! Can’t wait to schedule our field trip next year.” – McCormick Elementary 4th Grade Teacher
