LESSONS

• Capacitate the NDA to lead the programming process in order to

attain country ownership and political support – relationship;

• Develop internal institutional capacity within direct access entities

to design and facilitate project formulation process;

• Investment towards generating national climate information is

critical and enhances access to climate finance;

• Understanding of both multilateral and general global climate

finance landscape is important – platforms to create such

understanding should be enhanced;

GCF: EDA 001 – Water Security

Figures: 33, 000 beneficiaries, 170 boreholes; water provision for 78,000 livestock

GCF: EDA001- Hydroponic farming and drip irrigation

Figures:1.3 million kg of fodder farming, 300 backyard drip irrigation, 45%

reduction in livestock loss

GCF: EDA001- Community Based IPP

Figures: Combined 1 MW of installed solar PV, ring-fenced income to finance 80
