Wichita is known for great engineers
and is known as the “Air Capital of the World” because
it is home to many major aircraft
manufacturers. Wichita State will soon
start constructing an Innovation Complex on campus which will
combine engineering and technology
with business concepts learning. WSU
will be partnering with area
businesses to give students a hands-on
education experience.
WSU’s College of Engineering is
accredited by ABET, the recognized
accreditor of the highest quality
college and university programs in
applied science, computing, engineering
and technology.
The Barton School of Business recently
added a trading room and
research lab with a Wall Street

Intensive English L anguage Center
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
• Seven levels (beginning through advanced levels)
• Each level takes approximately 8 weeks to complete
• Classes include:
• Learning Laboratory - utilize computers and audio-visual aids
• Reading
• Speaking and Listening
• Structure (English grammar)
• Writing
Reasons to Attend Intensive English• Full access to all of the University’s facilities, laboratories, and residence halls
• Certificate of Level Completion (awarded at the successful completion of each level)
• Certificate of Program Completion (awarded at the successful completion of the program)
• Certificate of Distinction (awarded to students with a 3.5 GPA per level)
• Students who meet the english requirement may begin half-time undergraduate
• Students with academic admission may begin full-time undergraduate study after successful
completion of the highest level of the program
• Institutional TOEFL is available for a reduced price
• Accredited by AAIEP and North Central Higher Learning Commission

TOEFL & IELTSUNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONYou do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score when you apply for admission. Students who are admissible to an undergraduate
academic program may be conditionally accepted without providing the required score. Students who do not meet our English
requirement will be required to enroll in the WSU Intensive English Language Center. Students with an iBT TOEFL score between 61
and 71 (or its equivalent) may enroll concurrently in academic classes and the WSU Intensive English Language Center.
GRADUATE ADMISSIONYou do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score when you apply for admission but you are required when you are found admissible.
PLEASE NOTE:
• We cannot accept any score report that was originally issued to the student.
• IELTS results must be sent to WSU directly from an IELTS Testing Center.
• TOEFL results must be sent directly to Wichita State from the Educational Testing Service (ETS).
• SAT results must be sent directly from the College Board.
• Our institution code for the TOEFL and SAT is 6884.
• ACT results must be sent directly from ACT. Our institution code for ACT results is 1472.
• Official PTE Academic scores must be sent to Wichita State University directly from Pearsons.

SCHOLARSHIPS REQUIREMENTS
• Must attend WSU for 1 year before applying for scholarships.• Scholarships not awarded before the student arrives in Wichita.• Scholarships awarded based upon good grades at Wichita State. • No scholarships based upon financial need.• Scholarships are usually US$500 to US$2,500 per year.• Scholarships are NOT guaranteed.
WORKING ON CAMPUS
• May work up to 20 hours per week on campus. • Can earn around US$600 per month by working 20 hours per week• Employment is NOT guaranteed.• Off-campus employment is not allowed by law except for Cooperative Education.
INSTALLMENT PAYMENT PLAN
• US$30 administrative fee. No interest is charged.• Cannot apply until after arriving in Wichita.• Housing expenses are not included in Tuition Payment Plan.

Old Town – Wichita’s hotspot with more than 100 restaurants, shops, theaters, galleries, museums, and businesses. Old Town is one of the most historic areas of Wichita with its brick-lined streets and converted brick warehouses that were originally built from 1870-1930. Many of the historic buildings are renovated to be some of the trendiest loft-style apartments in the city.
