The wooden boxes are covered and lined with a wide variety of fabrics, including fine cottons, brocade, and dupioni silk. The boxes come in numerous shapes and sizes. Some lids are decorated with elaborate floss and bead embroidery. Most boxes feature handmade button closures.

The ornaments have a paper maché base. Ornament surfaces are covered with a variety of fabrics and trims. Some are encrusted with multi-colored rhinestones. The top and bottom of each ornament is finished off with decorative findings, ribbon, or other embellishments.
