Today’s health care environment creates an urgent need for extreme engagement and a culture of action within nursing. Building engaged teams is the work of nurse managers, directors, CNOs, and nurses across all work environments. This fall we can learn from a thought leader with multi- sector experience — Scott Goodson. Scott Goodson, author of Uprising: How to Build a Brand — And Change the World – By Sparking Cultural Movements. In his approach, a cultural movement creates a space for individuals to move from a state of apathy to a state of passionate engagement, touching on emotions and passions. Participants will gain practical insights as to how to “light the spark,” creating a culture within their own organizations that can embrace and drive a movement— knowledge that nurse leaders can put into immediate action in their organizations. Networking is a highly valued benefit of ONL membership. Ideas grow when they are shared. Learn from the collective experiences and ideas of fellow attendees. Participants will be able to: • Describe why creating engagement through movements is crucial for change. • Describe concrete strategies for igniting movements. • Identify the role of emotions in a movement.
