In June, PresMed Australia's CEO, Roger Cronin, and CFO Feng Neal travelled to the London to
attend the 13th Annual World Association of Eye Hospitals Conference. The Conference was held
at the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital, attended by leaders in eye hospitals from all over the
world. The conference covered topics including artificial intelligence, robotics, the digital
revolution and innovation.
Attendees then visited West of England Eye Unit in Exeter and The Royal Victoria Eye and Ear
Hospital in Dublin. Lasting from the 5th-11th of June, the conference and hospital visits covered

PresMed Attends World Association of Eye Hospital Conference
Day Hospitals Australia has released an informative summary of outcomes using data from the
Australian Hospital Statistics FY2017-2018 report that was provided by Australian Institute of
Health and Welfare. The summary outlines the high number of ophthalmic lens cases (cataracts)
preformed in private hospital as we as the extremely high average patient satisfaction rating

A Look into Private Day Hospitals
Central Coast Day Hospital reached a significant milestone on 24 July, 2019 when it treated its
25,000th surgery. Dr Brad Townend (Surgeon), Dianne Durrington (Director of Nursing) and
Sheryl Saillard (Business Manager) presented patient, Mrs. Woolcock, treated on the day, with
flowers and gift card to mark the milestone.
Central Coast Day Hospital (CCDH) was established in August 2010 and is a state-of-the-art
facility, specialised in providing a full range of eye surgery procedures including cataract, laser,
vitreo-retinal, cosmetic, and plastic eye surgery. Our 25,000th surgery marks the progression
of our facilities development since that time. Central Coast Day Hospital has consistently strived
to enhance and improve patients’ lives and the continuing healthcare standards in the

Central Coast Day Hospital (CCDH) is committed to continually research and obtain the latest in

in Australia by OptiMed. The Cyclo G6 Laser Console System provides surgeons with a non-
incisional, intra-ocular pressure control, treatment option for glaucoma patients. Patient outcome

Dr James Chen
Dr Chen completed his medical degree through University of
New South Wales. After undertaking an internship at Westmead
Hospital, Dr Chen was selected and fast tracked into accredited
ophthalmic training at Sydney Eye Hospital. Upon completion of
the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of
Ophthalmology fellowship, Dr Chen furthered his speciality training as an Advanced Fellow in
Vitreoretinal surgery. Dr Chen has been an examiner and mentor for trainee specialists and now
practises exclusively on the Central Coast.
