lessons from an art Gallery

During my travels around the world, I have had the opportunity to see beautiful works of art that have greatly inspired me, leaving me wondering about the background of the artists that created these masterpieces. I have asked myself as to who or what might have inspired the artist to reach such great heights in their chosen profes-sion, and what lessons I might learn from their experiences.

Recently I attended a Carl Bloch art exhibit. I was profoundly touched by Bloch’s work and the depth of feeling I witnessed in each of his paintings, including my personal favorite, “Healing at the Pool of Bethesda.” As I left the exhibit that day, I wanted to know more about this celebrated artist.

What I found out intrigued me. Bloch was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1834. He was the son of a merchant and Bloch’s parents, not unlike most, wanted their son to enter a “respectable” profession. They hoped he would become an officer in the Navy. However, certain events served to redirect Carl’s life down a very different path.

Failing the naval entrance exam and thus failing to become what his parents so desperately wanted could have been a devastating disappointment that caused Bloch to simply give up. Yet, for Carl it served to redirect his life and allowed him the opportunity to devote his attention to art. One of life’s most important lessons I have learned is that often our failures can become our greatest life changing moments. Carl experienced just such a moment.

Many of our great Forever Distributors will tell you that failure is a very real part of building any successful business. The important thing to remember about failure is that if we learn the “why” and “how” of what happened, we can work to avoid these same circumstances in the future and, most importantly, we can learn and grow from the experience.

Recruiting is a perfect example of this. You will certainly fail more often than not in getting people to join this incred-ible business. But, as you learn from your mistakes, discover what aspects of the business are most appealing, and work with your upline to perfect your message, your failures will serve as motivation and training toward achieving great things.

The second lesson I learned form Bloch’s life was that in spite of his marvelous talent for painting, he lacked confi-dence. This gave him real empathy for the poor and needy and these feelings of empathy empowered him in his paintings. As one art historian wrote: “The manifestations of Bloch’s sensitive and genuine character set him apart as a compelling painter.”

Empathy is an extremely important human quality and is a part of our company mission statement for that reason. If you seek to truly understand the needs, feelings, challenges and motivations of those you are working with in this business, they will look to you as a trusted partner. Empathy is one of those time-tested, enduring qualities that truly sets apart an inspirational leader from someone who simply goes through the motions of leadership. I challenge you to develop this trait in yourselves and inspire others to seek it as well. It will make a real difference in your business and in your life.

Failure and Empathy. Not often would I choose to talk about these two words in the same message, but these words clearly made a difference in the life and work of Carl Bloch – a life that I know all of us can learn from. I am confidant that 2011 is going to be a great year. Remember to learn from your failures and empathize with others who may be struggling for success. Everyone needs this great opportunity in their lives. There truly are NO LIMITS to what you can achieve in Forever so work hard, have fun, and create greatness in all you do.

Forever L i te Ul t ra®

FOREVER prodUCt foCUS

We hate to boast, but have you heard that Forever Lite Ultra® is now new and improved? Yes, that is right, new and improved! Take our shake mix with fewer carbohydrates and higher protein content, and mix it with our formula of 100% Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) for vitamins and minerals, and you have forever lite Ultra® with Aminotein® in deli-cious Vanilla (Item #324) and Chocolate (Item #325). Yum!

What is so different about that? Well for one, Forever Living’s new and improved Forever Lite Ultra has the complete and total benefits of soy protein. And it bears repeating that when we say complete and total, we mean complete and total!

Protein powder comes in many forms, including whey and soy. Both have been used for many years as excellent sources of protein. Forever Living currently uses a combination of whey and soy protein in the Forever Lite products, making the product rich in protein, amino acids and nutrients. However, emerging science has revealed that soy protein alone can provide some unique advantages over using the combination of whey and soy. Therefore, Forever Living has chosen to create a new shake mix utilizing all the benefits of the latest technologies with our new proprietary soy blend!

A protein must meet a high standard to be considered complete. And high quality proteins are only those that contain all of the essential amino acids in the correct ratio, to support healthy growth, development and maintenance of muscle tissue. Consider this table showing the benefits of a whey/soy protein blend vs. a soy only protein:

forever lite Ultra® with Aminotein® has all that and more! Soy is an excellent source of dietary protein and includes all the essential amino acids, according to the Mayo Clinic. It is also plant-based, making it more sustainable and eco-friendly than animal-based whey protein. One of the best parts about soy protein, though, is that significant clinical research studies have found that it lowers cholesterol – and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has even approved this as an

authorized health claim! In fact, two shakes made with forever lite Ultra® with Aminotein® provide you with 34 grams of protein from soy. And according to the FDA, “25g of soy protein a day, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.” That’s a win-win situation!

Soy protein also appears to support exercise performance, and because it is such a high quality protein, it satisfies the greater need athletes have for protein during muscle-building. It also supplies the necessary essential amino acids for physical and muscular development for both athletes and our growing families alike, making it the perfect drink to take before and after your exercise regimen.

The other great thing about our new and improved forever lite Ultra® with Aminotein®. What’s ‘Aminotein’, you ask?! Basically, Aminotein is a unique blend of enzymes specifically designed to break down protein and to ensure proper digestion and optimal absorption of amino acids. One of the biggest stumbling blocks of consuming large amounts of protein is digestibility. As we age, the level of enzyme production needed to break down protein in the body reduces, making it harder for our bodies to properly digest protein and receive the benefits of its precious building blocks – amino acids. Aminotein is a special-ized enzyme blend that works to unleash the power of the amino acids in soy protein by breaking down protein molecules more efficiently than the body can on its own, making more amino acids available for absorption. Forever Lite Ultra with Aminotein and soy protein… who could ask for a better combination?!

Forever Lite Ultra has also been established as a great meal replacement shake for those of us who need support in keeping our calories low and our nutrients high. Not to mention, it is just a delicious and convenient way of getting your RDI for vitamins and minerals in one long, sweet and delicious drink. And as you now know, soy is not only a complete protein, but it does all that in a lactose-free and nondairy form. Wow!

And if that is not enough, soy also provides calcium, iron, zinc, phosphorus, magnesium, B vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids and fiber. Not many plants have that distinction…you can see why we’ve shaken things up a bit with our new and improved Forever Lite Ultra.

So take the plunge with our new and improved forever lite Ultra® with Aminotein® shake mix. Be consistent in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and mix a shake or two every day. Make Forever Lite Ultra part of your healthy diet. Gather the whole family around the kitchen and hand out a shake for all! You will get the added benefit of knowing you are supplying your dear family and your-self with many of the nutrients and protein you need in one deliciously blended shake. Dive in!

Thankfulness.

“I was taken by complete surprise when I first saw the word “Diamond” on my computer screen. I was so overwhelmed with unspeakable joy and happiness that was beyond descrip-tion. The first thought that came to my mind was to thank Father God, whose hands guided me to reach this zenith from many years of hard work and devotion. I am very thankful to our founder and CEO, Rex Maughan, who built Forever Living Products to produce superior health products that benefit millions and millions of people throughout the world.

This prompted me to recommend the products to my friends and relatives. That was how I started my business venture. First of all, I want to thank my family for their support, especially my kind, loyal, honest and hardworking late husband (Hoa Trinh) who smartly guided me to build up our business. Together we developed 23 of our downline Managers, so I attribute my success to him.

I also want to thank my downlines for their hard work and unceasing support for the past 15 years. “Diamond” means that I have to work even harder in the years to come. I’d like to use my years of experience, plus the high tech network, as a tool to reach my next goal. Some of my downlines attribute my success to being “smart,” but in actuality my success is due to 15 years of hard work and diligence. The simple fact is that, as long as one is not afraid of failure and is willing to work hard and be humble enough to learn, one will acquire experience and become “smart.” There is a saying that, “Tomorrow will be better than today.” Everyone can be successful.

FLP is our biggest supporter. The excellent products and unique system are like our right and left hands. If we put the company spirit in our heart, and the company name “FLP” on our forehead, no matter where we are the word “FLP” will shine. We have to always be proud and grateful to our company. That’s the best advice I can give you.”

I worked in a hospital for 15 years and my husband Ricardo worked for a construction company. We didn’t have time to go out together or spend time as a couple because our schedules were very different and it was difficult to see each other.

Everything we have achieved and everything we are today is due to our hard work, perseverance to plant our seeds and, above all, patience to reap the fruits of Forever Living, because we have known all along that it is here where we want to be.

We have benefited from five Earned Incentives. We have gone to places that we never dreamed of. We have traveled throughout the United States, including Hawaii, which is the trip we remember the most. It is fitting to mention that with Forever we have purchased a house here in the United States and another home in Mexico, and our lifestyle is much better now than when we had our old jobs.

Our goal during the next few years in Forever is to teach and support our team so they can achieve their own goals, because we have learned that their success is our success. We are talking with them to qualify for the Car Incentive, Profit Sharing,

trip incentives, and to guide them through the fascinating world of network marketing which, and without any doubt, Forever is the best company in the world.

The way we learned about Forever Living Products 16 years ago was through our sponsors, Gastón and Rosacruz Ponce. They offered us the opportunity to know this wonderful company and its amazing products. Unfortunately Gastón is no

longer with us, but we will always remember him, and carry in our hearts his teachings and the love he showed to all the Distributors.

A special moment for me was when I attended a local Rally in my city. I could see for myself how many people were already enjoying the freedom of time and money that I wanted so much for myself.

The best thing that we have received from being with Forever is the freedom to make our own decisions. Now we decide when to work, where to go, and what to do with our time, without the fear of losing our jobs and, of course, our income.

Ricardo and I are now a successful couple, we are living our dreams, and we are very happy to be a part of this great company. This was the best decision we could make, and when I meditate on my life before and look at where we are today, I say to myself that our best days are still ahead with Forever!

We want to give special thanks to Rex Maughan and his wife Ruth. This man is a genius and a wonderful person because he has helped so many people around the world, just as he has helped us. Thank you to the Home Office staff, to Gregg, Carl Zander, Bill Lewis, Harold Greene, Navaz Ghaswala, Sylvia Treviño, etc. All of you are excellent people. We cannot forget our Area Directors, Robin and Aracely Carrillo; thanks to their teachings and trainings, we keep building our business with much success.

BUIldInG yoUr FOREVER BUSIneSS

RETAILINgSt. Augustine is credited with saying, “The higher your structure is to be, the deeper must be its foundation.” What a simple, yet profound, observation! This truth applies especially to building your FLP business. With the proper foundation, your business not only can provide you with income for your immediate needs, but also provide for your future security as well as that of your family.

This all-important foundation is referred to as retailing, which is defined as the marketing, sale and delivery of products to the end consumer. It doesn’t matter if the consumer is a customer or a Distributor – if a person purchases product for his own use, then retailing has occurred.

Our entire marketing plan is based on the founda-tion of every Distributor retailing four personal and/or New Distributor Case Credits per month. Every new Distributor should focus on building up to this volume; and every seasoned Distributor should focus on main-taining this volume. Therein lies the strength and stability of the business.

Fortunately, each Distributor has several retailing outlets available to him:

Retailing to Yourself. Make no mistake about it, you should be your own best customer! Every effort should be made to use as many FLP products as possible in your home. “FLP from head to toe insures that your busi-ness will grow.”

Retailing to your non-Distributor clients. This can be accomplished through your MyFLPBiz website, one-to-one conversations, product demonstrations, referrals, repeat business, and exhibitions.

Retailing to your new Distributors. Don’t overlook the fact that the product purchased by your personally sponsored new Distributors counts toward your 4cc each month. For specific training on the retail aspect of your business, watch the training program entitled Getting Started: Fundamentals of Success, which can be streamed or downloaded from www.onlinetraining.com.

Imagine the size of your downline volume if each Distributor was trained to concentrate on doing their 4cc. A small group of just 40 Distributors would generate 120cc per month, which translates into a healthy bonus check, an extra Earned Incentive bonus, and expense-paid attendance at the Super Rally!

Imagine the stability of your downline volume by having each Distributor do a relatively small amount of volume (4cc), instead of only one or two doing a large amount. If you had five Distributors each doing 30cc a month, and one drops out or can’t work for whatever reason, you lose 20% of your volume. On the other hand, if you had 40 Distributors each doing 4cc a month, and one can’t work, you only lose 2%.

As you sponsor and train your downline Distributors, keep these principles in mind. The size, strength and stability of your business will be determined by the amount of retailing done by each individual in your group!

Spring is an inspirational time of year. As the weather gets warmer and we watch the world break into blossom, it feels like anything is possible. That’s why spring is such a good time to dust off the cobwebs and refresh our surroundings. But spring cleaning isn’t just for our closets. There are several ways we can embrace this desire for renewal.

renew yoUr approaCH to exerCISeIf you are bored with your fitness routine, or if you have stopped seeing changes in your fitness, it’s time to challenge your body by pushing your limits so that your muscles will adapt and get stronger. You will want to increase either intensity or duration of your workouts, but not

both at the same time. So for instance, if you currently do 30 minutes on the treadmill every other day, you can challenge yourself either to add incline, or to add minutes to your workout. Once you see and feel the positive changes, increase intensity or duration again. Another good way to shake up your routine is to add new activities. You might try a Hot Yoga class, or switch out a treadmill workout for a Spin class. Training with others who give you positive feedback can greatly improve your chances for fitness success.

Clean oUt yoUr frIdGe and pantryWhen’s the last time your spring cleaning extended to your food? This year, determine to make your household healthier by “sprucing up” your fridge and pantry. The first step is to remove any ingre-dients that contain hydrogenated fats and high fructose corn syrup. These are two ingredients used in processed foods that have been proven to undermine good health because our bodies simply cannot process them. Next, remove all items that are beyond or nearing the expiration date. Then, move any high-

calorie, high-fat, or sugary treats to an isolated area far from the healthier foods. These snacks should be eaten in moderation, so move them in a hard-to reach area so they are not as readily accessible.

StoCk Up on HealtHy IteMSNext, you will want to do a shopping trip to stock your pantry with essentials. Here are some healthy staples for your kitchen:

Barley • Beans • Broths • Canned or frozen vegetables • Canned salmon or tuna • Cereal • Cornmeal • Couscous • Crackers (whole grain) • Dried fruits • Nuts • Pasta (whole grain) • Pasta sauce • Peanut butter • Rice (whole grain) • Rolled oats • Seeds • Spices and herbs • Sun-dried tomatoes • Tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce • Vegetable oil cooking spray • Wheat germ • Whole wheat flour

If weight loss is one of your goals for 2011, another staple in your kitchen should be the new and improved Forever Lite Ultra® with Aminotein® shake mix in Vanilla (Item #324) or Chocolate (Item #325)! It will get you started on the road to continued weight loss. Just two shakes a day fuel your body with the healthy vitamins and minerals you need.

Spring is the perfect time of year to reassess fitness and nutri-tion, especially since summer is just around the corner. So this year, take some time to reexamine your goals, and make a clean sweep that will help you on your way to better health.

FOREVER pIoneerS

30 years has truly flown by quickly for us. It seems like yesterday when we started as youngsters in our twenties trying this new business in an effort to supple-ment our income. Rick had been working as a foreman for a large air conditioning contractor and Kim was working for a bank. Initially, we were involved with another network marketing

company. On one occasion, we asked them if they had ever heard of FLP. Their facial expressions changed immediately, and they told us if anyone ever mentioned FLP, they would not be welcome in their home. That reaction took us completely by surprise. We asked them why they had such strong opposi-tion. They said that many of their upline in that company were switching to FLP. Naturally, we then asked ourselves why people would switch from our supposedly good business to this upstart company selling “cactus juice”?

When our uncle had first told us about FLP, he said it was a “phenomenal business opportunity and outstanding product”. In those days there were plenty of those around and many of them didn’t last very long, but we were intrigued by his suggestion. Out of duty and respect, we invited him to our home to introduce us to the products. He told us of the tremendous benefits aloe vera had and recommended the Aloe Vera Juice. We had never tasted anything like that before! We proceeded to do some research and found many articles expounding the wonderful properties and benefits aloe vera offers. Our doubts vanished, and we soon fell in love with products.

But what about the business opportunity? Once we were exposed to our fantastic Marketing Plan we were hooked. FLP was so much better on a point-by-point comparison. We could see the vast potential FLP had, and why people flocked to join. We signed up, bought some product and got started.

As we continued to build the business, several people reacted to our invitations to join Forever with some skepticism, especially given our youth. However, we persevered, built a group and moved up quickly in the program.

A few months later we had the privilege of meeting Rex Maughan. We felt a close connection with him right away. We accepted his offer to become the General Managers in San Francisco, moved to the Bay area and had our Grand Opening in March 1980. Shortly thereafter, Rex invited us to return to LA and build the business there. We both were born and raised in LA, knew the area and were experienced General Managers. We held our Grand Opening in LA in September 1980, and decided to work full time in FLP.

We started to build with the fantastic Distributors in LA who are the very best Distributors in North America. They truly are pioneers in this business. They are still going strong and are great examples of loyalty and strength. We love them and are proud of them all. With their help, we built the area to be the #1 Top Sales Area in North America for 27 years, and it has been number 2 in all the other years.

Through FLP’s various incentives, we have traveled all over the world on all-expense-paid trips by the company, and have earned many FLP luxury cars. We have raised our family of five children to use, love and promote the products. It’s been a wonderful experience being part of the FLP family.

We have heard it said that ‘today is the first day of the rest of your life’. We believe that statement and have encouraged everyone we meet to have the FLP experience. Today is the best day to join Forever! It is obvious that the company is absolutely thriving in its vision, progress, and its support for Distributors with the tools now provided.

As we look back on our beginnings, we are so grateful we listened to our uncle’s invitation to be a part of this incredible business. We are very thankful for him, our family who has supported us through this journey and our association with so many Distributors throughout the world and especially for those in L.A.

Of course, last but certainly not least, we are grateful to Rex Maughan and the rest of the Executive Staff who have always been there to provide loving assistance whenever we have needed it. We are truly looking forward to the next 30 years in the Forever Family and want to help as many people as possible achieve their dreams with Forever!

“Why FLP? Because I received help since the very beginning and I still get it from the company and from my sponsor, József Szabó. József always told me that I have to look for better Distributors than myself. I found them after searching for 11 years. They are Kati and Attila Gidófalvi, who became Diamond Managers within two and a half years. I tell everyone, “Never forget the day you joined FLP and the day you first dared to have big dreams with the Marketing Plan.” We have to always work with a grateful heart for our sponsor who intro-duced us to the world of Forever. And remember the results we have achieved through the basic work of every day. We have to use all of the Forever products and share the secrets of the Marketing Plan with more and more people.

• one of Hungary’s top distributors • 7,500cc achiever• top european profit sharing Winner • diamond sapphire Manager

those who achieve 7,500cc or more within one year become eagle summit Qualifiers.

I have been with Forever for 14 years. It was important to me that FLP was a very solid network marketing company with a 19-year presence. Before FLP, I failed with other so-called ‘we have just started and you can be the first one’ MLM companies. It was also important that FLP offered nearly 200 top quality products. With so many different kinds of products, we can achieve big sales. The prices were also essential, as we are planning from the perspective of East-Central European salaries. Another factor was that the leader of the company, Rex Maughan, told us that the best paid Distributors in the world belong to Forever. And finally, Forever Living Products ranks as one of the world’s top MLM companies in sales.

Anyone who works closely with others and spends the same amount of time as I do in my FLP business can reach the same results as I have. The company does not consider you as a Distributor number; they treat everyone as a human being. I always remained a man. But the best thing is, as Rex Maughan says, FOREVER is the greatest opportunity in the world. This is not just a promise - we have proof! We help you get there! Go Diamond!”

A Member of Your Distributor Support Team“I began working for Forever Living in September 2009, and the year has flown by. Every day I hear stories of how our products have helped improve people’s lives. Working for Forever Living and being part of a family that has impacted people’s lives in such a positive way is the best feeling ever. One thing that I love the most is the new charity foundation that FLP has developed, Forever Giving, which has helped so many people in need. Since I have been with Forever Living I have also used the products, and my favorite ones are Argi+, Aloe Propolis Creme and Aloe Sunscreen. We are here to support all the Distributors and to help them achieve their goals.”

10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY“Ten years is the longest I have worked in the same place. I think it is because I finally found a place that I am proud to work for, due to the integrity and generosity of Rex Maughan. My boss, Don Wallace, is ‘the best’ and I am thankful to him for so many things. I am lucky to work with such great people in Forever Resorts and Forever Living. It is still amazing to feel like I am driving into a resort, when I drive up to our beautiful building and grounds every morning. I look forward to the next milestone celebration and wonder how many resorts we will have then?!”teresa rodrequez, Assistant to Sr. VP Retail, Resorts

10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY“Wow, 10 years! It seems like just yesterday that I started working for FLP. Time flies when you are having fun. I am blessed to work with this wonderful company. Thank you, Rex, for giving me this great opportunity. I have seen many changes throughout the years, and it is amazing to see how much the company has grown. I love helping our wonderful Distributors from all over the world. I hope to be here for many more years in this amazing company.”toni oviedo, Web Project Coordinator

5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY“As a person who works behind the scenes, I have seen everything. Have you ever seen a whole team of people work 50+ hours straight, with black circles under their eyes – and still they insist on continuing to work to make things right?

Well, I have seen such heroes make everything possible for others. Most of them I haven’t even met in person. We communicate by phone or email, but somehow we are connected. Their work is supporting over 130 countries around the world, thousands and thousands of transactions daily, hundreds and hundreds of projects... and countless Distributors. Who are they, you may ask? They are the back-office staff at the Forever corporate office and the country offices worldwide. I feel so thankful and proud to be part of it. They make me grow strong.” Ching Ho, Sr. iSeries Developer

Here’s a chance for a Forever Resorts’ Wyoming Double Down --- call it a two-fer --- where you take a whitewater ride down Jackson Hole’s Snake river with Mad River Boat Tours during the summer, then return in the winter for snowcoach or snowmobile tours in snow-covered yellowstone national park or the Bridger teton national forest.

Both modes of merriment are conducted out of the Mad River Boat Trips office where once they put away the watercraft, they bring out the winter gear for Scenic Snow Safaris. Shuttle vans transport visitors to the trail-head where two options for further travel await: Guided snowcoach passenger van tours or snowmobile tours of Yellowstone National Park or guided off-trail riding via environmentally-friendly snowmobiles that transport you over fresh powder. Choose from destination sites like the old faithful Geyser; the spectacular yellowstone falls; a wildlife watching trip to Gros ventre wilderness and Goosewing ranch; the togwotee High Mountain deep snow ridge-line run; or half-day excursions south to Granite Hot Springs natural mineral pool for a soothing soak. While summertime brings the allure of warmer tempera-tures and a chance to ride the Snake River rapids,

wintertime draws the big game animals --- elk, moose, deer, and bighorn sheep --- down into the lower valleys to the delight of wildlife watchers.

“We acquired Scenic Snow Safaris last fall as a way to supplement our existing operations at Mad River Boat Trips in Jackson Hole and Signal Mountain Lodge in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming,” says Forever Resorts Regional Vice President John King. “With that acquisition, we feel we are now able to offer year-round adventures and activities.”

For additional information or to make Scenic Snow Safari reservations, call toll-free (888) 734 8898, or log on to www.yellowstoneexplorer.com/daytours.cfm.
