Lizzie's freckles, in her mind, have mutated to be the reason for all that is wrong and all that is missing in her life. The reason she can’t lift her head up as she walks. The reason people stare at her with pity as she walks down the street.

The years of shunning human contact has infected her soul. The film shows her unraveling and descending into the dark madness she has incubated inside herself.

Her office mate, doesn’t use her weight or her age as a scapegoat as Lizzie uses her freckles. Lizzie grows envious of the blatant self-confidence she feels Margo does not deserve to promote.

Lizzie misconstrues her neighbor's friendliness as shared romantic feelings. Her head grows with the possibility that he can see beyond the dots on her skin.

When it becomes clear that the freckles on her face are not the reason he doesn't love her, she erupts in a cloud of loneliness, misery and RAGE.

From a very young age Denise imagined the dolls in her toybox as strong, multi-layered characters and thrust them daily into captivating stories full of twisting plotlines and fascinating narratives. Her screenplays "Skin" and "Sex Dreams of Jon S t e w a r t " w e r e b o t h a w a r d e d i n competition. Denise has written and directed television shows such as "Fashion Police" and "Behind the Label" and was awarded an Emmy for her work on the cult hit, "Subway Q&A". She is also a script moderator and writer for the NYC Screenwriters Collective, aiming to guide all screenwriters she meets in creating a better-told story. It all starts with the script.

Society preaches for women to be perfect, thin, beautiful. None of us are. We all have something- our weight, our height, our blemishes that block us from that ideal. Women and girls must be taught to love themselves-- it is those imperfections that make us beautiful. We can choose to not do that and blame our self-imposed handicap for all that is wrong in our life. FRECKLES is a warn ing of the psychological damage that type of scapegoating can do, as well as the effects society’s laws of beauty can have on a young girl’s pscyhe. Love your flaws!

Jenn was offered a scholarship to attend the NY Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, but chose to enroll in Meisner and stage combat training at the William Esper Studio instead. She has appeared in the 2nd season of the off-Broadway production Bonafide and was nominated for Best Actress in the Secret Theatre's One Act Festival in 2013. She is currently represented by American Talent Management.
