Installation Recommendations• Place the telephone on a non-slip surface. Polished or

varnished surfaces can be marked by some parts of thetelephone, such as the rubber feet.

• To ensure good hands-free conversation quality, placethe telephone on a flat surface and keep the area in frontof the microphone free of obstructions.

• To avoid interference, keep the telephone at least onemeter away from cordless telephones, mobile telepho-nes, television sets and other electrical equipment.

• The Profiset 3030 telephone must be installed at a maxi-mum distance of 500 meters from the telephone exchan-ge by using a two-pair cable with 0.4mm2 copper wire.

• The telephone must not be exposed directly to the sunor other heat sources, nor be installed in dusty or exces-sively humid locations, as this will reduce its useful life.It should be used at temperatures between 5 ºC and 50ºC and it is not waterproof.

• To clean the telephone, use a damp cloth and avoid abra-sive cleaning products. Do not use a dry cloth, becauseit may cause electrostatic discharges that could damagethe equipment.

• When the telephone reaches the end of its useful life,dispose of it in a way that does not harm the environ-ment, in accordance with local legal requirements.

Installation

Connecting the Handset to the Telephone:

• Insert the long, straight end of the spiral cord into theconnector with the symbol, until it snaps in.

• Connect the short end to the handset.

• Press the cord into the cable guide.

Line Cord Connection

• Insert one end of the straight cord into the connectorwith the symbol and the other end into the phonejack of the extension to which you want to connect theequipment.

• Press the cord into the cable guide.

Labeling Strip

Your Profiset 3030 telephone has a labeling strip for writingdown names, telephone numbers and functions stored in theprogrammable keys. If you need to change the labels, cut outthe template supplied on the last page of this manual.

Profiset 3030 System TelephoneThis is a telephone exclusive to the HiPath 1100 and eurosetline systems. It allows direct access to some PABX features,and has special functions for monitoring the status of exter-nal lines and extensions using signals from a group of pro-grammable keys.

CharacteristicsIt has a 3-line display

• The first line displays the MUTE symbol, the repeat callcounter, the repeat call indicator, and the time and date.The time is shown in 24-hour or AM/PM (hours:minutes)format and the date in day/month format (for example,11:13 28/08).

• When you are in operator terminal mode, the number ofunanswered internal, external and recalled calls is shownon the second line (16 digits).

• The messages are shown, 16 characters, on the thirdline.

Status Indication Keys

Key off; the extension or external line is free.

Key blinking slowly; a call is parked.

Key blinking faster; an incoming call to the exten-sion has not been answered.

Key blinking fastest; signals an incoming call or a re-call.

Key is on; the extension is busy.

Function Keys for Profiset 3030 - S30058-H6202-A1/A2

FWD key forwards calls to an extension or external telephone.

PARK key parks a call.

HOLD key puts a call on hold.

SPEAKER key, activates hands-free mode using mi-crophone and loudspeaker.

REDIAL key redials the last number called1.

MENU key for access to menu-driven configuration settings.

FLASH key invokes the flash function for the exter-nal line.

FEATURE key activates the system functions (for example, Forward, Do not disturb, etc).

MUTE key deactivates voice transmission so the person with whom you are speaking cannot hear you any more. To reactivate voice transmission, press the key again.

Use the or keytochange the ring volume.

Dialing ModeIf your system is not working because of a power outage andthe external telephone line has been switched directly toyour Profiset 3030 system telephone, you will need to spec-ify the dialing mode (pulse or tone) for this line, because innormal operation the telephone exchange performs this set-ting automatically.

Press this key to select the mode option.

Use the or keysto choosethe dialing type, Tone or Pulse.

After choosing a dialing mode, press this key to confirm.

Temporary Change of Dialing Mode:

When the telephone is set to PULSE dialing, you may occa-sionally need to temporarily change the dialing mode toTONE dialing.

Example: You want to check your bank balance using yourtelephone banking service. Make the call as you usuallywould and, as soon as the call is completed, press tochange the dialing mode to TONE dialing. When you finishthe call, just hang up and the dialing mode will automaticallyswitch back to PULSE dialing.

The hands-free volume is preset to level 4.

Press this key to switch to hands-free mode.

Use the or keystoselect one of the 6 volume levels.

Press this key to finish the configu-ration.
