This large-and-lovely pal comes from Simplicity 8069. (Our pattern’s enlarged!) Before you sew and stuff, we recommend ironing fusible fleece to your fabric—it’ll make the finished product sturdy and smooth.

Pups need sweet digs too. For the dog bed, just stitch two squares of fabric together and stuff. And for the toy bin, use Simplicity 1214.

When you want to boost the comfy vibes, try DIY letter pillows. Just trace and cut mirrored letters for front and back pieces, and add strips of fabric for the sides. (We added quilted squares to the fronts!)

Looking for a pillow punch-up, but unsure where to start? Grab a stencil—you can stitch the design with embroidery floss. Here, fabric stars (adhered with fusible web) complete the theme.

To make your own ruffled throw, baste and gather several fabric strips, and stitch them all to a larger piece of fabric. Addbatting and backing, and you’re done!

No-fuss curtain update: Sew coordinating fabric stripes onto a plain curtain panel. Tip: Be sure to fold the fabric around the sides of the curtains before stitching into place.

Custom seating can be done— the trick is covering a 2" thick foam pad for the seat cushion. If you’re sprucing up an outdoor spot, remember to choose an indoor/outdoor fabric.
