WOOL & WOOLLENS AT GLANCE
Wool & Woollens Export Promotion Council (WWEPC) was established in the year 1964 with the initiatives of the then Hon'ble Commerce Minister of India Shr Manubhai Shah and entrusted the responsibilities of promotion export of all type of wool and woollen/acrylic blended productsfrom India. Presently, is WWEPC functioning under the administrative control of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. has its Head Office in New Delhi and two Regional Offices at WWEPCLudhiana and Mumbai. The Council has a large number of manufacturers and exporters of wool and woollen/acrylic blended products who are spread all over the country.
WWEPC is registering authority which is basically promoting, supporting and assisting firms in entering the international markets. provides WWEPCinvaluable assistance to Indian exporters as well as importers/ buyers who choose India as their preferred sourcing destination for woollen products.

WWEPC is incorporated as a non-profit organisation under the Society Registration Act, 1860 and governed by the Memorandum and Articles of Association framed by the Council. It is administered by the Committee of Administration consisting of elected representatives from the export trade, ex-officio members and nominated Government officials.
The Committee is headed by Chairman. The Chairman and Vice Chairman hold office for a period of two years as per provisions laid down in Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-20 and Bye Laws of the Council. The Secretary Cum Executive Director assists the Council to run the administration.
