Face Shield Construction Non-Surgical Style 01 – Design and Pattern
Simple design, three pieces, no sewing, easy to wipe clean
• Process• Cut the pattern from clear vinyl • Attach foam at top of shield in center (peel/stick or hot glue)• Attach VELCRO® at ends of headband (peel/stick)
• Clear vinyl• 12 mil to 60 mil will work; 20–30 mil recommended• Roll vinyl or pressed/polished vinyl sheets • Tinted vinyl is not acceptable for use in face shields
• VELCRO® or similar hook/loop tape• Product is designed to use 1" wide VELCRO®• Widths as small as ¾" will work
• Foam – open-cell or closed-cell foam can be used• 9" to 11" x 1.25" or 1" closed-cell neoprene (used in this design)• Up to 2" foam will work (provides adequate spacing for user)• Foam to be sourced at discretion of fabricator

Please Note: Some products that Trivantage carries have been used in the production of face shields, and other PPE devices. However, these products have not been formally approved for such use and are being provided in response to shortages created by the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Medical face shields require certification and must pass FDA-approved testing of the finished product, including those concerning flammability. Products labeled as fire retardant is not a claim that the product meets required flammability testing for medical face shields.
