Seven hundred friends, and I was drinking alone.

How many times in the last couple of months did you attend events where guests brought items to help contribute?

(i.e. food, drinks, gifts, outdoor equipment, etc,.)

Item  List

Page 29: Facebook EventPlus

Item  ListHypothesis 6, which predicted that members given specific numeric goals would rate more than those given do-your-best goals, was supported. Subjects rated 27% more movies when given one of the specific goals than the non-specific do-your-best goals (z=.2.87, p<.01). Moreover, the marginally significant

group goal specific goal interaction (z=1.67, p<.10) indicates specific goals had a

larger effect in the individual-goal

condition than in the group condition.

Individuals contribute knowledge to electronic networks of practice when they

perceive that it enhances their professional reputations, and

to some extent because it is enjoyable to help others. They contribute

when they are structurally embedded in the network, and when

they have experience to share.
