Facial plastic procedures

Dermal fillersAging, sun damage, heredity and lifestyle can cause a loss of the skin’s youthful fullness. Fillers can diminish the sagging and volume loss most effectively around the mouth, lips, cheeks and under the eyes. Most patients can return to normal activities immediately. Some fillers require a few office visits, but most are completed in a single visit. Results may last up to a year. Types of fillers used include Juvéderm® and Restylane.®

Ear reshapingKnown as otoplasty, ear surgery can improve the shape, position or proportion of ears. Correction of even minor deformities can benefit appearance and self-esteem. Ear surgery also can treat overly large ears (macrotia) or protruding ears occurring on one or both sides in varying degrees, and not associated with hearing loss.

FaceliftA facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that tightens wrinkles and sagging skin on the face and neck caused by gaining or weight loss. Facelifts can restore the youthful contours in the face that have been lost due to heredity, aging, environmental conditions and stress.

Neck liftA neck lift, or lower rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that improves visible signs of aging in the jawline and neck, including excessive neck wrinkling, a “turkey wattle,” double chin and jowl lines. When the neck area doesn’t match the upper facial appearance, a neck lift may be a desirable solution.

Rhinophyma This rare skin disorder is characterized by a large, red, bumpy nose. It usually occurs at a later stage of rosacea. Through excision or surgical planing of the nose skin, a normal appearance can be restored.

RhinoplastyRhinoplasty reshapes the form of the nose or restores function due to a structural defect. Surgery can modify the shape, size and overall appearance of the nose. Modifications may address the size, width at the bridge or nostrils, humps or depressions on the bridge, flared or pinched nostrils and tip reshaping. While initial swelling subsides within a few weeks, it may take up to a year for the new nasal contour to fully refine.

Cosmetic procedures

Blood vessel growths (angiomas)An angioma is a benign growth made from small blood vessels and can be located anywhere on the body. They are treated with laser, which provides a good cosmetic result.

Botox®

The appearance of moderate to severe frown lines, forehead creases and crow’s feet may be temporarily improved with Botox.® Most patients return to routine activities immediately after the procedure. Results become apparent in one to two weeks and last about three to four months, sometimes longer.

Chemical peelsPeels can diminish signs of aging and treat some skin conditions, including some types of acne and conditions that discolor the skin. Peels resurface and improve the health of skin on the face, neck, chest, hands, arms and upper back, with minimal downtime. Peels also can improve the appearance of dull complexion and rough skin.

Hair removalLaser treatments can remove unwanted facial and body hair effectively, usually with a few office visits. Most patients are free of unwanted hair for several months. When the hair regrows, there is usually less and it tends to be finer and lighter in color. Laser hair removal can be repeated when hair regrows.

Rosacea and facial rednessRosacea is a chronic skin disease appearing primarily on the face as persistent redness with bumps, pimples or visible blood vessels. A series of laser treatments effectively reduces blood vessels, flushing and redness.

Scar treatmentAcne can cause permanent scarring, forming deep depressions or giving the skin a rolling, wave-like appearance. Laser treatment can improve the texture of the skin, whether irregularities are caused by acne or other scars.

Skin rejuvenationRadio frequency treatments provide a non-surgical alternative to address wrinkles and weakened skin tone. After several treatments weeks apart, new collagen and healthy skin cells create smoother and more elastic skin texture. Skin rejuvenation involves minimal downtime and is effective on all skin types.

Spider and varicose vein treatmentSpider veins are formed by the enlargement of blood vessels close to the skin’s surface. Varicose veins are abnormally swollen or enlarged blood vessels that often lead to pain and swelling in the leg. These red, blue, or purple veins on the face and legs can be treated effectively with laser procedures or sclerotherapy. Most patients can return to normal activities immediately.

Sun damage and brown spotsFreckle-like brown spots and other discolorations from years of sun exposure can be removed safely with laser treatments.

For more information or to schedule a consultation, please call 513 246 5454.
