Water Activity Centre GTS Dolphin

Sleeping GTS Dolphin sleeps up to 47. The downstairs dormitory has 8 double bunks (16 beds) and the upstairs dormitory has 9 double bunks (18) . There are also two smaller rooms, with two double bunks in each room, and one small room with 3 single beds. Protective fitted sheets are provided, but you must bring your own linen, blankets and pillows.

Activities The large open area can be used for indoor games, or use the trestle tables & chairs for craft, meetings and more!

Kitchen & Dining The kitchen is fully equipped for groups of up to 60 to self-cater. The kitchen has been entirely renovated and refitted in 2007, and there is also a gas barbeque for outdoors cooking. There is a

large open area used for dining with trestle tables & chairs available.

Toilets, Showers and Laundry There are 5 toilets and 5 showers in separate female, male and disabled areas, with sufficient hot water for 60 people. There is also a washing machine, dryer and laundry trough.

Air-conditioned and Heated With air-conditioning throughout, and heaters in the cold, GTS Dolphin is the perfect venue all year round!

GTS Dolphin is Girl Guides South Australia Inc’s water activities centre located at Snowden’s Beach, near Port Adelaide. This sheltered stretch of the Port River offers a beautiful setting for a camp, with the sand at your doorstep, boats passing you by, and if you're lucky, the Port River dolphins to wish you good morning!

GTS Dolphin is within walking distance of historical Port Adelaide, its the perfect base for groups to take excursions to the: Maritime Museum

Dolphin Watching The Port River is home to a number of dolphins! Spend some time lazing by the water, keeping a keen eye out for any visitors. You might also like to use the chance to do a Port River Dolphin Cruise!

Fishing There is excellent fishing on Snowden Beach - you could catch mulloway, bream, mullet, trout or whiting! (Bring your own fishing gear).

Swimming Go for a dip in the Port River, or walk to the nearby Largs Bay beach for a swim!

Power Boats* There are two power boats available for use only for those with a power boat license.

Kayaks & Canoes* There are a variety of kayaks and Canadian canoes available for hire.

Exciting destinations include: Garden Island & Torrens Island, St Kilda, Port Adelaide, West Lakes & the Mangroves.

Sailing & Rowing* Two sailing boats are available for hire with full rigging for sailing the Port River.

The sailing boats can also be used without the rigging, for rowing, which is ideal for younger children and those with disabilities. *Boating hire is available to qualified & experienced boating instructors. For insurance & safety purposes, we cannot hire equipment to groups without the requisite qualified leaders.
