How to Create a QR Code
Generate QR codes linked to your website, Instagram or Facebook page
So you want to get Asian visitors to spend more at your business? We recommend you
create QR codes containing a WeChat logo. These should be prominently displayed in
positions visible to passers-by. They should also be displayed beside each product line,
indicating that your customer can scan to access additional product information.
Why? Asian visitors are used to scanning QR codes to find out about a business and to
seek detailed product information. WeChat, an app used extensively by Chinese visitors,
pulls your content into the app in a translatable format. This avoids them having to
struggle with verbal communication if they’re not confident to converse with you in
English.
Step
1 Select a free QR code generator
Search online for a free QR code generator website.
The example shown here is www.qrcode-monkey.com

Step
2 Link QR code to your online page Copy and paste the URL (website address) of your web page or social media site or online product description into the field Your URL.
The example shown here links to the Feast on East Markets page on the Gladstone Region website.
Your QR code will direct your guest to your nominated page. Therefore, only include one URL per QR Code.
If you want multiple links (e.g. one for Facebook, one for your website), create a new QR code for each link.
Step
3 Image search: WeChat logo Do a Google image search for WeChat logo. Save it to your phone.
WeChat is China’s most popular messaging app and its logo will instantly be noticed by visitors from China. Other Asian visitors will also likely recognise the logo. Even though they may not use the app, they will deduce that your business is Asia-friendly, especially when combined with a QR code. After all, not many Australian businesses display QR codes or use WeChat, so this will provide you with a competitive advantage.

Step
9 Repeat process for each product line
Create QR codes for each product line to provide additional information.
Just remember that each QR code should link to a different URL.
This works well if you have a website with multiple pages or product listings with unique URLs for each product.
