This comprehensive approach is a unique offering that will help facilitate students’ goals of professional advancement by providing a complementary education in both the policy language of national security and the scientific underpinnings of biodefense. Applicants to the MS in Biotechnology (Biodefense concentration) will have the option of applying at the same time to receive the Certificate in National Security Studies (NSS). Students already accepted and/or enrolled in the MS in Biotechnology (Biodefense concentration) who wish to add the Certificate in NSS as part of their program may do so by completing the application to the certificate (fee and letter of recommendation waived) while indicating their enrollment status in the Master of Science degree. Students already accepted and/or enrolled in the Certificate in NSS who wish to add the MS in Biotechnology to their program of study may do so by completing the application to the master’s degree (fee waived) while indicating their enrollment status in the certificate program.
