Over the years the Lodge has evolved into an iconic New Zealand property that has been consistently chosen as one of the top retreats in the world and is sought as an exclusive destination for the most discerning travellers. LOCATION:

• Huka Lodge is on the banks of the Waikato River, upstream from the mighty Huka Falls and close to Lake Taupo.

• From Auckland, Huka Lodge is an easy and scenic 3-3½ hour drive, or a 45-minute scheduled domestic flight direct to Taupo Airport.

• From Rotorua, Huka Lodge is a one-hour drive.

• Located within the central plateau of New Zealand’s North Island means guests can easily include a visit to Huka

Lodge on journeys of both a northerly and a southerly direction.

ACCOMMODATION:

• Full capacity at Huka Lodge is 25 rooms in total including both cottages.

• 18 Junior Lodge Suites (at 42m2; with 33m2 being bedroom) enjoy beautiful riverside views, en suite bathrooms with separate shower and deep bath, twin hand basins – with under floor heating.

• The double Lodge Suite (at 78m2) features a sitting room with fireplace, dining, spacious bedroom and two well appointed bathrooms.

• The Owner’s Cottage (at 364m2; with 30m2 being bedroom and 24m2 dressing room and bathroom) offers the ultimate in Huka Lodge hospitality. Perfect for a house party for a family or a group of friends, this exclusive self-contained cottage has four generous suites, with butler service and personal chef.

• The Alan Pye Cottage (at 325m2; with 34m2 being bedroom) offers another stunning style of cottage experience within the property. Smaller in scale, with two large suites and superbly appointed, also with a butler service and personal chef.

• Children are warmly welcome and baby sitters are available, on request.

DINING & CUISINE:

• Guests gather in the main Lodge building every evening for one hour, to enjoy pre-dinner drinks.

• From there they disperse to dine communally in Huka Lodge tradition or to one of over 20 of the Lodge’s many unique and deliberately romantic private dining venues. These offer both indoor and outdoor opportunity for seclusion and ambience.

• Every day our Executive Chef, Paul Froggatt and his team present a five-course dinner showcasing the very best seasonal ingredients. Service is both seamless and solicitous.

ON-SITE:

• Huka Lodge nestles within 17-acres of manicured grounds and offers a location of great natural beauty. The gardens are listed as of National Significance.

• There is an all-weather tennis court as well as potential to play pètanque and croquet within the grounds. Guests can cast a line from the lawn and fish for trout, on a catch-and-release basis.

• A swimming pool and spa pools are available for the enjoyment of all guests. The Owner’s Cottage and the Alan Pye Cottage both have swimming and spa pools of their own.

• There is also a helipad on the lawn, in front of the main Lodge, for guest arrivals and departures.

• Guests can enjoy massages, facials and beauty treatments within the privacy of their own room.

• There are fly fishing rods and some mountain bikes available for guests to use, on request.

OFF-SITE ACTIVITIES:

• Carefully selected operators and guides are available for guests to facilitate a range of activities including – horse riding, trout fishing, river rafting, mountain bike riding, guided nature walks and sightseeing trips.

• Golfers have a choice of many courses – a favourite being Wairakei International Golf Course just five-minutes away. There is also a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course nearby at Kinloch, this is a 20-minute car journey each way, from Huka Lodge.

• Lake Taupo is 10-minutes by car from Huka Lodge and provides great opportunity for aquatic adventure – sailing, swimming, para-gliding, water skiing and kayaking. Fishing for the famous rainbow and brown trout, renowned for their size and fighting spirit is also very popular.

• Pre-dinner drinks and canapés for one hour before dinner every night.

• Every night a five-course gourmet dinner is presented, there is a new menu created everyday by the Huka Lodge Executive Chef. After dinner, petits-fours and cheeses are also provided.

• Full country breakfast is served everyday – guests can choose from a generous quantity and variety of delicious dishes.

• In the Junior Lodge Rooms minibar items such as soft drinks, fruit juices, nuts, home-baked biscuits, chocolate bars, tea and coffee are there for your enjoyment, at no charge.
