The program offers concentrations in public and media relations, political communication, health communication, digital communication, and corporate/non-profit communication. The MA in Communication helps professionals advance or switch their careers. The majority of our graduates claim that the master’s degree helps with moving into a new position. Our alumni are senior managers in various organizations, such as government agencies, associations, non-profits, and corporations. Both students and alumni have access to our exclusive job opportunities listings and Career Services Center. Students can earn their MA in Communication onsite—at our conveniently located Washington, DC Center; or online. Most onsite classes take place on weekday evenings; a few occur on Saturday mornings. Students have a flexible course schedule and can start and continue their studies during the spring, summer, or fall. They have up to five years to earn their degree; most take about two years. ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS Prospective students must hold a bachelor’s degree prior to enrolling in the MA in Communication program. Our students come from diverse educational backgrounds such as Political Science, Biology, Psychology, and Sociology. The program admits students on a rolling basis. In general, prospective students are encouraged to submit their applications no later than two months before the start of the desired semester.
