By reducing the number of duplicate articles in your search results, you can cut through excess headlines to find the articles that really matter. The Alerts revision and creation screens

The Search Builder screen

Your search results screens

There are three levels for removing duplicate articles. Choose the appropriate option from the drop-down menu:

When time is our most precious commodity, any tool that helps you save a little is worth talking about. By reducing the number of duplicate articles in your search results, you can cut through excess headlines to find the articles that really matter. In an effort to assist you with managing your Alerts email deliveries and your search results, the option to remove duplicate articles from email deliveries and search results has been added to: A. The number of identified duplicates will be displayed at the top of the page, and will be based on

your default number of articles displayed per page.

B. While displaying your actual headline results, you can view or hide the identified duplicate articles.

There are a number of limitations as to how the removal of duplicate articles will be applied: For searches run under the Search tab (in Search Builder or Simple Search), removing duplicate

articles will only be applied to content added to the Factiva archive after June 26, 2008. Removal of duplicate articles will not be applied to content added prior to June 26, 2008.

Removing duplicates is only available in the Search and Alerts areas. This feature can be applied when

you have chosen Publications and Web News as your content type in English, French, German, or Russian language sources. If you have chosen Blogs, Pictures or Multimedia as your content type, the option to remove duplicate articles is not applicable.

The search terms or keywords do not include any East Asian characters. Removal of duplicate articles

will not be applied if the search strategy includes Japanese, Chinese or Korean characters. To learn more about the option to remove duplicate articles from Alerts and Search results,
